Would recommend this Doctor!
I'll be 75 and I would be the first to not return to a Doctor if I felt they were not at least , compassionate and open to my concerns . I have NEVER had a problem with Dr. Padilla. She has been my Primary Care Dr. for over 6 years. She listens to my concerns, recommends and follows up on needed procedures re: needed X rays . She explains findings of her exam in detail and SUGGESTS but doesn't PUSH her recommendations re: medications . Over the last several yearly visits she has asked me to consider a particular medication for my cholesterol level, even though I am hesitant to take them.We may disagree but she is respectful. I feel that she is concerned about my well being. I like her, and would recommend her to others.

Cold and Confusing
I've seen Dr. Padilla as my PCP a few times now, and should have come here first. The reviews are spot on. She lacks empathy, she makes you feel like an inconvenience, she makes no effort to familiarize herself with past notes (leading to a lot of redundant explaining of issues), her communication is incomplete and unclear. The condescending tone to every question or response to a question is exhausting. She has absolutely no bedside manner, and if you struggle at all with feeling anxious in a medical setting - you'll be met with heavy sighs and rolling eyes. Truly, if you can see someone else - do it.

Sometimes it's the system, but not always.
I can't tell whether her dismissive attitude is linked to personality, and what is the result of increasingly restrictive UCLA Health policies. The net effect, however, is what matters: Dr. Padilla is curt, somewhat unsympathetic, and in a hurry to process her patients out in the shortest time possible. Not a great experience.

A Very Pleasant Experience For A Doctor's Visit.
I went to Dr. Padilla for a wellness exam and will continue to see her as my primary doctor. She was friendly and explained procedures that made me feel at ease. I genuinely felt fine being under her care and had absolutely no issues while being seen.

Worst doctor ever
So I used to have dr. Padilla before finally transferring to another doctor after I had enough of her dismissive comments about my health and what I wanted. I would come in with pains and she would blame my weight without checking the issue, like extreme back pain. It got so bad it hurt to breath and I ended up going to a chiropractor who managed to fix me up! On a separate occasion I told her that I wanted to transition from female to male and wanted a referral to see a doctor to do so. She said “good luck with that” and didn’t refer me anything. I was suffering from body dysmorphia for three years until I brought my father into the room to basically force her to do her job in referring me to my gender health doctor. At one point I thought I had cancer and I was really scared and visibly shaken up, on the verge of tears and I looked at her and asked “do you think I have cancer?” She laughed in my face and said “we’ll see”. Absolutely abhorrent behavior, made me scared to even see her.

Lacks Empathy
- Lacks empathy and is often judgmental. I caught her rolling her eyes at a request I was making to have an X-ray for a problematic joint. And then she said she didn’t want to put in the referral because it was for a feeling of weakness and not pain? But she also didn’t offer any other solutions. - All appointments feel rushed. I went in for a physical and to address some pain I was having once. She told me she only could do the physical and I had to come back another day to address the immediate pain. - Laughs at you if you suggest an idea that she finds ridiculous (like special diets or supplements) - Good for a basic physical and a referral to a specialist. I’ve gone to her for years and I’m just over it. I’m going somewhere else this year.

Dr.Padilla if you’re humble enough to do “YOUR PATIENTS” a favor please seek help in understanding “EMPATHY”! I have been going to you because it was close and convenient but no more. If you could “care less” about talking to a doctor about issues you are concerned about regarding your health, then Dr.Padilla is right up your alley! However, if you’re looking for a Doctor Who will listen to you, take time hearing you, and asking you questions then she is not the doctor for you! Hopefully UCLA reads this and will help this Doctor seek the proper care she needs!

Gives a good physical, nothing more
Dr Padilla gave me a thorough physical, but I won't be returning to her. It's not just because she talked over me, not wanting to listen to my questions - it's that later, when I contacted her office, she couldn't be bothered at all. The only response she gives to messages is a canned 'make an appointment', even if her next appointment isn't for weeks and you really need help.

She has no bed side manner whatsoever. She was rude and snotty. Condescending, actually. I was shocked. I maintained my composure just to get through the appointment and not escalate things but she doesn't have to act like that. There are some amazing, kind, wonderful doctors at TLHC and she's not one of them. Avoid.

How is she even a medical doctor, when her repeat advice to increase my sodium level is to drink as much water as possible, constantly? On the contrary, this flushes out the salt in my body, which is needed to increase my sodium level or at least keep it steady. If I can't trust her with basic science, what else is she telling her patients and prescribing that is not medically accurate?

My experience was frustrating, disappointed and baffling. I now regret not heeding the reviews I read prior to making my appointment with Dr. Rachelle D. Padilla. One review read, that she wrote her review to balance the reviews because she was baffled by all the negative reviews she received. Well, I will tell you based on her demonstrated lack of consideration, support, communication and response that Dr. Padilla more than earned the "negative" reviews. I know she earned mine. Don't waste you time, resources, insurance and most importantly your medical care with Dr. Padilla. She continued (during and after the initial appointment) to passively aggressively dismiss me and my health. Disgusting! The reviews reflect my experience. People took time to write the reviews about the unfortunate experiences they had with Dr. Padilla. Knowing what I know now, I would rate my experience as a 0. I highly suggest giving our reviews much consideration. Your health and health care deserves better.
