Lack of accountability and unprofessionalism
I completed my Accutane treatment less than a year ago at a different place and tried Dr. Kushner because she was closer to home. I let everyone from the receptionist, to the medical assistant, to the doctor know that I was already enrolled in the iPledge system 2x overs. I was told at my initial appt that it shouldn't be an issue to re-enroll me despite recent changes to iPledge. For anyone who's been on this treatment before, you know that monthly negative pregnancy tests are needed before each refill. Fast forward to today, I'm being told by the office manager Tina that I have to wait another month to begin treatment because I was enrolled as a new patient by them just a few days ago. When Tina indicated that I was enrolled as a new patient because I didn't let give them my old iPledge ID (my recent treatment was mentioned during each of my interactions with staff) I replied that NO ONE ON STAFF ASKED and that the current treatment provider (them) could have call me and my old do

Hate to sound cliche, but if I could give 0 stars, I would. Don't understand where the positive reviews come from. Maybe they're entered into a drawing for a basket of skincare products Brought my son there because his acne was flaring up. As I'm filling out paperwork, there's a section dedicated to providing your credit card info. What is this for, you ask? Well, when insurance will only cover part of your visit, this gives them the authority to just go ahead and charge your card. How convenient. I did NOT provide my credit card info nor sign this section. Why give that when you have insurance? Follow me, if you will, to the front desk to hand in our papers. The receptionist then tells me that I have a $200 copay. I tell her we don't have copays on our insurance and anything insurance doesn't cover gets billed. She then explains that it's their "office policy" to collect up front. My son really needs to see the dr, so I put it on my card. Money hungry.

Not worth the trip. You make appointment to see Dr. Kushner, usually you see somebody else. You make appointment to see Dr. for a Prescription, instead, they sell you her own products.

These reviews must be made up. Staff are young with no diplomacy or understanding whatsoever and D.O. Rachel Kushner is all about selling products and $$$... Need I say more? Office is filthy.

The reviews are misleading or done by people her friends or colleagues. I typically do not like reviewing. It is necessary to say she is the worst in her practice. I would not recommend her. Lifeless and baseless knowledge of symptoms.

I made a followup appointment to see Dr. Kushner. Left work early, waited 50 minutes, then called into the exam room. I asked, I am seeing Dr. Kushner, correct? The reply was, "Dr. Kushner is not here today, you will be seeing the P.A., she's just as good as Dr. Kushner and does the same job!" If I wanted to see the P.A., I would not have distinctly made the appointment asking for Dr. Kushner. Needless to say, I walked out. Beware - very deceptive!

Definitely would not recommend. The wait was about an hour and 15 minutes and I received no help for an urgent/same day appointment for a condition I am told should be handled at a dermatologist's office.

Wait time was an hour and a half. Time spent with the doctor was less than 5 minutes. They required payment in advance even before seeing the doctor. The waiting room was inadequate, there were no cups in the water cooler and no toilet paper in the bathroom. The receptionist didn't seem to care one way or the other when I mentioned this to her. My prescription was incorrect when it was sent to the pharmacist. I was supposed to get three refills and they told the pharmacist 0 refills.

My daughter was diagnosed with a fungal infection, and prescribed cream. When I called the office to ask a question (three times), no one got back to me. Very poor follow up. Also, the Farmingdale office is dirty and has an odor. The PA who saw my daughter was very nice, but I wasn’t impressed with the rest of the staff.

I have been under the care of a different dermatologist for more than a decade for the treatment of pigmentation around my face and I never notice any change. But with Dr. Kushner I started getting the result in 4 months and I'm on my way to get the remaining (may be 15%) result. It is a pleasure working with Dr. Kushner and she is going to be my dermatologist for the rest of my life and l can strongly recommend her to anyone I know who have skin issues.
