Dr Cook and Leesburg/Ocala Heart Institute very nearly cost me my life with a botched mitral valve replacement. They put in a valve that was too small which immediately ruptured after the initial surgery.I had severe shortness of breath and had to go back to the emergency room twice and needed a re do sternotomy 5 weeks later. The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville ended up saving my life.I was told by Dr Landolfo at the Mayo Clinic that "In another two weeks I would have been dead" The pain and suffering I had to endure from May 18,2020 until July 4th weekend was unimaginable.During my 2nd trip to the emergency room because of fluid in my lungs due to the leaking valve I mentioned to Dr Cook that I felt like I wasnt getting better. His exact words to me were "Your getting better just not was fast as we would like" This was completely false. If I had listened to him and his PA Instead of paying attention to my symptomsI would be dead.

Awful experience! My father died post aortic valve replacement and we never saw doctor cook until 7 days later when we took my father off life support, it’s been 10 yrs and it still feels like yesterday. Also my aunt had heart surgery with him a few years ago and she died From complications. The worst part was he didn’t even remember my father.

Hello Dr. Cook, you saved my dad almost 25 years ago. He had to have double heart valve replacement at Fort Gordan hospital. Thank you so much! May God always bless you. My dad’s name is Randi Hutchons. He’s doing great still. I was a teenager then and didn’t understand how serious things were, I understand how God used you to perform this miracle. My dad is enjoying his three children, six grandsons, 1 great grandson, and soon to be great grand daughter. God Bless You always!!!
