Dr. Quang Nguyen, MD

He preformed a procedure on my right eye that was a complete failure. Let on it was going to reduce my pressure instead turned my eye to legally blind. Found him to be arrogant, flippant, not interested in your opinion and unconcerned about eye drop side effects . Highly regret trusting this doctor. Do not recommend!!

Dr. Nguyen performed a stunt on my left eye. I woke up on the tail end of procedure. It was painful, I was not advise that my eye could get infected. It did, and I lost complete vision of my left eye.

My mother, aged 90, has glaucoma and possible macular degeneration. It’s hard to tell, because Dr Nguyen is very uncommunicative, rushes through appointments, and doesn’t seem to have any human interest in his patient. He is, brusque to the point of rudeness. I don’t feel my mother is getting anywhere near the level of attention she needs and deserves, so we’re moving on to another physician.

Find another surgeon. Dr. Nguyen messed up my cataract surgery and then messed up the repair and I nearly lost my vision in one eye. I can't hope to win a lawsuit because I can (thankfully) still see, but my optic nerve is permanently damaged. Neither he nor the department head at Scripps ever acknowledged my complaint - avoiding a malpractice claim, I guess. There are lots of great surgeons in San Diego - Dr. Nguyen is not one of them.

I feel Dr. Nguyen is, by far, the best eye doctor I have ever seen in my 64 years. I received hard contacts at 8 years old and have been going to eye doctors ever since. A glaucoma scare sent me to Dr. Nguyen. He since diagnosed my cataracts. After putting up with them we had a great, non-rushed, pros and cons discussion regarding cataract surgery. He explained everything and advised me I could even wait longer if I wanted to. I never hesitated to have Dr. Nguyen perform that surgery on my eyes. I highly recommend Dr. Nguyen. He is busy because he is an excellent doctor.

I had a very serious condition and was recommended to have Dr. Nguyen take my case. I've lost track how many times I had to go see him over the last 3 months. Dr. Nguyen is extremely busy; he's always double booked. That never interfered with the care he gave me. Excellent. If you're lucky enough to get him as your doctor, you'll be getting one of the best. He now has a plaque in his examination room given to him by his peers. They rated him as one of the best in his profession.

I have gone to some of the "best" ophthalmologists that specialize in glaucoma between LA and here and Dr. Quang Nguyen was superior to all of them. He was friendly and professional, which is a hard combo to find with many doctors. I have only had one visit and did not have surgery, but he was very familiar with my rare eye condition. He took me early for my appointment and everyone from the front desk, his associates and him were very friendly and professional. I will definitely return.

THIS DOCTOR WAS VERY ARROGANT, DID NOT CARE ABOUT ANY CONCERNS I HAD, DISMISSED MY INPUT AND RUSHED THROUGH ALL VISITS. SCRIPPS SHOULD BE ASHAMED TO KEEP SUCH A DOCTOR. THE VISIT TOOK LESS THAN 3 MINUTES AND THE STUFF THERE MESSED UP MY APPOINTMENT BY NOT SCHEDULING THE VISUAL FIELD TEST. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN AND SURE ALL 900 REVIEWS SCRIPPS HAS ARE SCAM. I HOPE PEOPLE WILL READ IT BEFORE THINKING OF GOING TO HIM.
