I'm very picky with providers because I look for someone who is aggressively proactive if the treatment has no long term side effects, while being very conservative if procedures carry any long-term risks. Dr. Taunk is very knowledgeable and through explaining all possibilities well, he is a partner in my health decisions, not the kind of physician who decides for you and puts his foot down if you differ from his recommendation. It's a very respectful approach to care

I love this guy! He takes his time with, and makes sure all your questions are answered. He'll explain it as many times as it takes for you to understand. Will reach out to others for 2nd opinion. But by doing this his appointment times run behind. They let you know on a board whether doctors are on time or not. I would rather wait longer to have very specialized care.

I experienced idiopathic pancreatitis for over 3 years and finally found Dr. Taunk. At my first appointment he took time to listen to me and review my medical records. He suggested an ERCP which was scheduled for a couple weeks later in which he examined the bile duct and surrounding area. He cleaned it out and made a small cut to the duct to allow unrestricted bile flow. It has been six weeks and I have not had any pancreatic attacks. I would recommend Dr. Taunk without hesitation.

Obviously very knowledgeable. One of the best doctors I've encountered in explaining in plain English the nature of my condition and potential causes. Tests, the reasons for them, and how to results would impact possible courses of treatment is another strong point. I would recommend him without reservation.
