Meniscus knee surgery
I had meniscus knee surgery, and I have no doubt that Dr Ramkumar is a skilled surgeon and he did fix my torn meniscus. However, I did not appreciate his bedside manner. He answered most of my questions by referring me to his website. He never came to check on me after the surgery; instead, he gave me a phone call late that evening?! When I told him I didn’t want opioids for pain because they make me very nauseous, he walked away with an attitude, saying, 'Okay, then you'll be in pain.'The most frustrating part of this experience, however, was dealing with his scheduling nurse, Jessica. She took her time processing paperwork, causing delays, and repeatedly blaming it on my insurance (when in fact my insurance was approving referrals promptly).

I highly recommend Dr. Prem Ramkumar
I am fortunate to have Dr. Prem Ramkumar as my orthopedic surgeon. He accurately diagnosed my issue and was successful in surgically repairing it. During my initial consultation, Dr. Ramkumar reviewed my medical history and studied my MRIs and X-rays. He then patiently discussed with me how I felt and how my issue was impacting my daily life. It is rare for a doctor to spend time including the patient in forming the diagnosis. After my five years of severe pain, during which I incurred multiple surgeries, shots, and pain pills, I am finally back to my active lifestyle. I am also impressed by how nice his office is and the professionalism of his staff.

I had an absolute TERRIBLE experience with DR. Ramkumar! I went to him with excruciating hip pain after an accident. He took an X-ray and MISSED a fracture in my hip. Instead, he made fun of how the accident happened and started explaining to me nonsense about how Asians tend to develop hip arthritis later at an older age. I am not even Asian, I am Caucasian and another surgeon said I don’t have any problem in my hip genetically. I kept reminding him that this happened after an accident, yet he ignored me and guess what … he referred me to physical therapy! Hip fracture shouldn’t even be moved a bit otherwise it will be displaced and cause huge complications. Later on, we sent the X-rays to four different orthopedic surgeons and they all agreed that I had a hip fracture that needed surgery to be fixed and I should have avoided even putting weight on it. Had my fracture been left untreated, I would have needed a hip replacement at a very young age. This doctor was about to cost me my health and ability to walk with his ignorance and horrible diagnosis. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. THIS DOCTOR IS IN FACT DANGEROUS TO YOU AND YOUR HEALTH!
