Dr. Pramod Deshmukh, MD

I've been a patient of Dr Deshmuk for about 10 years. I was diagnosed with heart failure and he was very thorough with my treatment. He put me on the proper drugs, put in a single wire Pacemaker / Defibrillator and my condition is monitored by his office with equipment that sends a signal to Guthrie. So if the heart develops issues, they know right away and I'm notified to come in. Recently, I developed an issue that required a 3 wire Pacemaker and Defibrillator. With the CRT Pacemaker, my condition is much improved and my breathing is back to normal. Dr. Deshmuk, his team and the Cardiology heartfailure clinic have done a nice job keeping my condition stable. I have alot of confidence in all of Cardiology and especially Dr. Deshmuk. The office visits that I've had with him have always been very good.

Dr. Deshmukh has very little bedside manner. He's not warm and fuzzy. But if you are looking for a no-nonsense approach physician, this is your man. He has implanted a pacemaker and then a pacemaker/defibrillator for me. He says what he thinks whether you like it or not. If you want hand-holding, find someone else. Dr. Deshmukh DOES, however, have a wonderful Nurse Practioner, Mary Romanyshyn, who will assist you through your ordeal, make sure you understand your ailment, and guide you through the healing process.

Dr. Deshmukh's procedure (Atrial Valve Nodal Ablation + Permanent Direct His Bundle Pacing) turned my Afib life from constant napping back to normal energy. He is a pioneer in this area and has published several articles on it. This procedure has been gaining in use, both in Europe and the USA. Mine was done over 3 years ago, and I am delighted with the results! (I am 82.)

I took my father to see Dr. Deshmukh for the first time. I was impressed with his ability to get things done. My father was suffering from Arrhythmia. Other cardiologists just prescribed pills and did nothing else. It turns out my father had been in Arrhythmia for several months. Dr. Deshmukh got him down to needing just 1 prescription (he eliminated the need for 4 other prescriptions) and got his heart back into a regular rhythm in just 4 days.

Saw him twice after A-Fib at Guthrie Clinic where I was put on Sotalol (antiarhymic) & Xeralto. At the first visit he added Ramipril (for BP) & told me to come back in a month. Did so, he asked me why I was back so soon! Then he said, I'm not going to see you anymore, just lose 20 lbs, then you can go off the Sotalol, but stay on the Xeralto in case you have another episode so we can treat you quickly. I feel betrayed and left to my own resources-looking for another doctor. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
