Dr. Prabhu Udayakumar, MD

I've been seeing Dr. Udayakumar since July 2019. Excellent physician, great staff. In more than 5 years now, I've never been disappointed once. I highly recommend him.

My daughter lost her insurance due to a job change. She is on infusions and could not afford to pay out of pocket. She now has new ins but can't get in for 6 months. She is in critical shape, cannot use her hands at all. She's missed 4 infusions. Totally miserable but the office lady can't get her in. Very sad for patients. She needs help now!!! Please contact me by email if something can be done. She is unable to use her hands to correspond.

He saw me on one of my worse days the first time, as my MD had referred me after regular visits and labs, he felt I needed to see a Rheumatologist (as I was followed over a year before the referral). Dr. Udayakumar was able to see many different symptoms and had good knowledge to know where to begin in treatment, as there were many things going on. He ordered more intensive labs, and after results began starting medications. Within a few days I could actually see a little relief, and I tolerated the medication well. After seeing me for several months, he was able to see that my symptoms and history led him to my current diagnosis, but he still believes there is more. He has located medications, and treatment, that have now given me a better quality of life than I had been able to have in two or three decades at least. As nobody really looked into my complaints before, I just kept getting worse. Dr Udayakumar and his staff, and given me back my life.

He is amazing! His knowledge is excellent and he is very compassionate with his patients. He refers if necessary and makes sure his patients are getting good care! I highly recommend Dr. Udayaakumar highly!

I’ve had arthritis for several years and just looked past it, he’s been wonderful if I need anything, plus has scheduled the correct appointments with the right doctors for my care ! I highly recommend if you want to see someone that really cares about your health now and future

I went to see him and he doesent explain anything very good. He misdiagnoses me and I wuldnt recommend him. Hes an idiot!

I was under Dr. Prabhu Udayakumar's care for a couple years in Minnesota. He relocated to TX and shortly after I relocated to AZ, where I am still battling to find a knowledgable RA to handle the complexity of my care. As I am now undertaking the misery of attempting to locate compedent Specialist in a new state, it had me appreciating just how amazing his care was and appreciative I am, so I for the first time felt compelled to right a rewiew. I had seen RA's prior to Dr. Udayakumar who never took the time to reach a proper diagnosis. After my first visit, I teared up knowing I had finally struck gold with Dr. Udayakumar. He is vastly knowledgable, doesn't give up searching for the facts rather that slap labels of misdiagnosis on you. He looks at your whole health picture! I'll refrain from turning this into a novel, but just know if you are considering him, go see him!!! He is just a GREAT RA!!!

Dr. Udayakumar has been my rheumatologist for 5 years. He has always treated me with respect, is very good answering questions both in clinic and through My Chart. I feel he has guided my treatment expertly. I trust him explicitly . The people who work with him are also, helpful and friendly.

Dr. Udayakumar understands my polymyalgia rheumatica and takes proactive action to treat the PMR effectively. I believe Dr. Udayakumar can be trusted to make appropriate treatment changes when necessary. I plan to continue seeing him for all rheumatology matters. He is very friendly and approachable.
