I would not return again
I had been seeing a previous doctor at this office, but he left and I was now assigned to Dr. Smith. The previous doctor had done the ultrasound and biopsy at same visit.Dr Smith wanted me to additionally have a virtual appointment to discuss another endocrinology issue. She would not do the biopsy without a written authorization from my PCP and cardio team.My PCP let me know that he wrote the needed referral letter a week later. After that week, I called to see if they had received it. I have five follow up calls and messages to the office. There was NO RESPONSE to any of these calls or messages.I canceled that virtual appointment because this office is unresponsive.I wrote a final desperate message to the doctor asking why I never heard from the officeI did receive a call then, they seem to be completely confused, thought maybe I needed a biopsy the following year and wanted to know if I wanted to schedule that.A new office and Hospital: completed in one week.

Terrible experience
I would not recommend seeing Dr. Pinar Smith at Rush. My experience with her could have been better due to her lack of professionalism. During my first appointment, she focused on topics unrelated to my current concerns, including side effects from a treatment I received over five years ago that were no longer relevant to me. My specific needs and concerns were not truly heard. Additionally, I was charged for an extended appointment, which seemed like I needed to be more justified. Overall, there are better options for care elsewhere. Going to Dr. Pinar Smith should be a last resort for any patient.

Terrible Experience
Very unprofessional, office staff never available. Orders tests and then doesn’t explain the results. No compassion or care for patients. Terrible experience. Don’t waste your time, seek a better doctor.

Dr. Smith, Nice addition to the Endocrinology Dept
Telehealth
Dr. Smith is new to me, as my previous Dr. moved. This is my 2nd visit with her - I'v been very pleased and I was nervous to start with a new Dr. She has been very thorough reviewing my records, listens well, offers suggestions with a plan of care and has not rushed through our visit. Another plus is she does video visits after she has met you in person . I have been very comfortable with her and would recommend her if you need an endocrinologist

Not able to perform Thyroid Scans or Biopsies???
Made appointment in December 2022 for follow-up Thyroid Scan. After traveling 82 miles to her office (now in Naomi Berrie Center) I was brought into her office. I was informed she was NO longer able to perform ultrasounds or biopsies at this office. What ??? That’s her so called specialty. I was advised Radiology MIGHT have an opening and I COULD call to find out. Really??? . Dr. Pinar seemed perplexed I had no interest in sitting there for the visit, after being informed my ultrasound was not going to be done by her AS it was scheduled. I accessed my patient portal. Dr. Pinar’s After Visit Summary gaslighted me for not wanting to ACCEPT her order to have the Ultrasound (maybe) being able to be done in Radiology, and wanting to Cancel my appointment. Why wasn’t I informed ahead of time the Service I was scheduled for could not be done? I’m wondering if her medical privileges to perform these procedures has been curtailed by theEndocrinology/Thyroid Service ?
