I went to see Dr. Prakash because I had Hemorrhoids. After my first visit she rushed me to get Colonoscopy done, surprisingly she had appointments available within next 2 days. I went for Colonoscopy and there the nurse tells me I am scheduled for Endoscopy and Colonoscopy both. I was surprised to hear this. I explained I only need Colonoscopy then they removed endoscopy from the list. My follow up was scheduled with Dr. Prakash after 2 weeks when all the reports arrived. When I checked in for this appointment the receptionist told me I'll be seen by Dr. Prakash's assistant as she is not available that day. So I waited in waiting room. Only to have a conversation with a new patient who happened to have appoint with Dr. Praksh at my very own time slot. I inquired about this but didn't get any good answer. She just wants to rush patients in the procedures without spending time on follow up. I believe those appointments don't pay as much as the Colonoscopy. Very unprofessional behavior. I went to see another GI after that.

Update From Previous Entry
So My wife tells me yesterday that Dr. Prakash will not see her until April for her follow up on last Friday's endoscope. She also stated that Dr. Prakash insisted on getting the endoscope done as soon as possible. This sounds like the shadiest setup ever to take care of a patient. So it was necessary to expedite the endoscope but the follow up to tell you anything discovered, that's not important. I get it you have to practice diligence to rule out anything serious, but I think if there were anything truly serious more severe symptoms would have appeared other than bloating. Yet we were rushed to do a procedure that required general anesthesia. The hairs on the back of my neck are standing up screaming that there is something wrong here.

NOT RESPONSIVE TO PATIENTS
not sure - she and her staff were initially great and attentive. After my two procedures, i have made two calls for a call back and have two weeks later still not received a call back. I had questions pertaining to my lab results that i the patient wanted addressed prior to my follow-up appt which is 2 1/2 MONTHS away. Athough I felt extremely safe nd in good care with gastro center, from a patient care and safety persepective I am disappointed and would probably not recommend, as I may have to return to my prior gastro physician.
