ENT cannot help with ear pain
I returned to Dr Zald with an ear pain issue after 1.5 years of mild ongoing symptoms. Upon my return visit Dr Zald told me he does not know what the cause is and told me 'sometimes body parts are sensative'. Gave me some basic prescriptions and sent me on my way with a 'best of luck'. If an ENT cannot help diagnose an EAR issue or at minimum provide recommendations of next steps or other avenues to take to fix my issue WHY ARE YOU AN ENT? I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND Dr Zald for any ENT issues based on his ability to assist me with a clear ear issue.

Dr. Zald to the rescue
After my skin cancer removal Dr. Zald and staff came to my rescue. I needed a skin closure on the end of my nose. They took care of me promptly and professionally. My drive from West Linn was well worth my time. Thanks Dr. Zald and staff.

I had a possible sinus infection and went to see Dr. Philip Zald. The exam to look at my sinus and discuss it took maybe 10 min. Like a bull in a china closet not very gentle when putting instrument in my nose. He said it was nothing much to be conserned about, for the next 35min was basically ideal chat. It appeared he was either the nicest, laid back Dr. I ever met or he was milking it so to charge more. After 45 min. the latter was becoming more apparent and I told him I had to go. He billed out 45 min. at 452.00 to my insurance a good portion of which I had to pay. A year previous I had a ENT sinus exam in Arizona very similar procedure for about 100.00 bucks.

I had basil cancer on my nose. It was much larger than expected leaving quite large hole in the side of my nose. The surgeon who removed it referred me to Dr. Zald. He saw me the very next day. He was very good at explaining all options. I opted for a flap which he did that very day. He took the stitches out in 2 weeks and I can not believe the result. A fantastic reconstructive job. He and his staff were very caring, courteous and professional. He was a real blessing!

I had a horrible infection in my nose. Dr. Zald examined me and gave me options and then helped me decide on the best treatment. I think what other reviewers percieve as poor bedside manner is actually just his mild-mannered personality. (He does not have the typical type-A doctor personality.) He was very compassionate and actually apologized for my pain as he performed the needed procedure. Then he called me (on a Saturday!) to tell me the results of the culture he had taken so he could reassure me that I was on the right medication. My infection healed up quickly thanks to his skill/knowledge. Great doctor/great experience.

I saw Dr. Zald for a strange growth inside my nostril. He was thorough in his examination and very reassuring. He took samples for biopsy and called me with the benign results a few days before I had expected to hear from him. He then removed the growth and was absolutely meticulous in getting good margins to reduce the chance of it growing back. I could not have had a more positive experience - his staff are lovely as is he.

I had sent medical reports well in advance and not only had he not read them, but he didn't even know about them. Thus, much time was wasted in the office discussing things, that would not have been necessary if he had read my medical report ahead of time. The conversation seemed to run in circles with no real solution. I was billed over $900. His bedside manner was poor and I question his medical problem-solving skills.

Well, not to impressd. He seems to be to pensive to be a doctor... He seems not to be able to mqke his decisions about what to do for your for care. He is nice enough, but he keeps you in his office forever. I was there for two and a hours! Only to be told to use saline spay in my nose because I use oxygen! I must say that is staff is excellent!

I have seen Dr Zald three times concerning a nodule on my thyroid which was found incidentally while being x-rayed and scanned after a car accident. He seemed very personable and knowledgeable. We discussed options and which way we wanted to go. He was respectful and in agreement to my suggestions and concerns. My wait times were average to fast. I liked him and the options. Returned a year later and everything was the same as far as satisfation.

My experience with Dr. Zald was quite different from many of his reviewers. I came to him with a severe post nasal drip as the aftermath of a cold. I only had a 10-minute wait to see him. He listened carefully to my symptoms and prescribed a nasal spray which worked well. His follow up with me as a patient was very thorough, among the best of any of my physicians. He carefully outlined a follow-up course of action should the spray not work which it did. I am very satisfied with him .

This Dr. Is a complete joke. His bedside manner is the worst, I had ever witnessed. I can't believe he had a med student with him. What a bad example. I waited over 45 minutes only to be seen for less than 5 min and not one bit of info about my ear pain. He must remember me calling him a WEIRDO!

I had a horrible experience. Dr. Zald caused me great pain and had zero bedside manner. I told him twice to stop because he was probing so deeply in my infected ear. He didn't even tell me it was infected until I told him to stop to ask him what he was doing. I plan to report him to the medical board.

He hurt my ear unbelievably and caused bleeding..... all to remove ear wax. His "bedside manner" is non-existent, in my way of thinking. In good conscience, I would not recommend him.
