Dr. Yount was my husband's doctor for years. Eleven months ago my husband had a massive heart attack due to severe blockages from cholesterol. Last week he went to Dr. Yount's office because his cardiologist told him to, due to unusally high elevated blood pressure (179/110). Yount's office told him that they were booked and couldn't see him, & they wouldn't even check his blood pressure because he didn't have an appointment. They let him leave their office, knowing his recent history of heart attack, & didn't even suggest that he be seen at quick care or the ER. They didn't tell him to watch for any signs of stroke. Nothing. I feel this was medically irresponsible at best. He changed doctors that day.

Dr. Yount and his RN Robin Edwards have nearly gotten me fired for their incompetence. Was told by Robin to go back to work before even starting physical therapy. Also they ignored being told by two specialists that I should quit my job due to its impact on my health! When my disability benefits rep. called to follow up due to a lack of records (they never sent) she told them I was fine and didn't show any signs of disability.

In short, I would rather stay sick for a week with an easily curable sickness and see a different doctor ANY doctor than to see Dr. Yount immediately. I went to him a few years ago with an eye swollen shut and horrible pain and after looking it for a few seconds he shrugged it off as allergies. He was wrong. Went to a different doctor and had to have emergency surgery to remove a rock that had been embedded in my cornea. If it hadn’t been for the other Dr I would have been blind in my right eye.

Dr. Yount was recommended to me by a friend. The doctor reviewed my history. He recommended a blood test. The entire visit was approximately a 30 minute conversation. The conversation and Bloodwork cost me $435.00 with insurance. I thought this was an outrageous charge, so I tried calling the billing department at his office and was directly connected to Cornerstone at Wake Forrest. I would advise new patients to ask about charges ahead of time before a visit.

After far too many hour long drives to see our old doctor in Boone we finally decided to make a change. Many local folks recommended Dr. Yount. Today was our first appt & we are very pleased! Alice, Cari, and Ashley were all kind and helpful. Dr. Yount took his time, going over everything thoroughly. We highly recommend him to others that might be looking for a new doctor! Thank you Dr. Yount, Alice, Cari, & Ashley!
