Abandon’s Children’s Orthopedic Care Dr. Nowicki Failed Our Child’s Orthopedic Needs We adamantly warn against selecting Dr. Nowicki for your child’s orthopedic care. Our son suffered a traumatic two-week hospitalization, and afterward, he had a recurrence of a chronic condition from a prior medical error and cover-up. Dr. Nowicki took over his post-op care but had no plan to manage it when the second recurrence occurred, leaving our child with a preventable lifelong struggle. His sloppy, inaccurate records misrepresented our son’s condition. He suggested a second opinion, then abandoned us when we sought it, pretending to care while proving otherwise. This shattered our son’s trust in doctors. Dr. Nowicki’s jealous dig at the new doctor and abrupt discharge left us with no local options. Our son, already burdened by a tumor and untreated infection, was failed when he needed support most. With so few choices for pediatric orthopedic specialists in our area, it breaks our heart to say we cannot, in good conscience, recommend Dr. Nowicki for any child’s care.

Lacks Empathy
I would not recommend him. My nephew was under his care, and after enduring a traumatic year, his treatment was suddenly stopped, leaving the young man feeling distraught. The poor boy suffers from a recurring chronic infection, and the family is exhausted from this past year and intensely worried about their son’s health. He had no plan on how to handle a recurrence or flare-up of his chronic condition. I would not suggest him for clinical care.

Worst doctor you could go to
My son had surgery with this "doctor" 6 years ago. He didn't know what he was doing. My son has Charcot Marie Tooth Disease. He did a soft tissue surgery. I took him to Nowicki & told him that his foot was worse & turning. He shrugged it off & had a guy shadowing him. He just said, his foot will never be perfect! My son was walking on the side of his foot & in so much pain. He was crawling & in tears! Dr. Maskill in Portage did surgery on him & will tell you this was his most challenging surgery. He had to do a triple fusion surgery. Soft tissue surgery was never going to work for CMT. Nowicki should have done better research or told us that he didn't know what to do. I'm actually thinking of suing this doctor. He put my son through so much pain & at the check up appts, he should have been able to see that his foot was turning side ways. We had to keep getting inserts . DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR! I can't shout it loud enough. I need a refund! I recommend seeing Dr. Michael Maskill.

Dr. Nowicki is outstanding! My daughter has seen him for the past 5 years for bi-lateral hip dysplasia and he has always taken the time to address all of our concerns. I love that he addresses the child in addition to the adults. It is very clear that he is knowledgeable and passionate! Dr. Nowicki has always clearly explained the plan along with the next steps to make sure we are comfortable moving forward.
