Dr. Shupper and his staff are top notch!
My father just had his first appointment with Dr. Shupper and I can't say enough great things about him and his staff. From the moment we walked in, everyone greeted us warmly and Michelle, our nurse, made us feel at ease. Dr. Shupper saw us almost immediately and he really took the time to listen to my dad's complaints. He seemed very knowledgeable and recommended a great treatment plan. Honestly, if you are looking for a medical practice that combines professionalism with a personal touch, this is the place to go. Thank you Dr. Shupper, Michelle, and the entire Orthocenter staff. We are looking forward to our follow up visit!

Good Doctor
I had lower back surgery in 2016 have struggled with pain sometimes very severe that I could barely walk in the left groin thigh and knee for years. I went to 5 will no neurosurgeons in New Jersey. 4 recommended fusions from L3-S1. A rather invasive and severe procedure. What puzzles me was that the pain was not in the back but in the groin, thigh, and knee. I was close to having the severe surgery but decided to try pain management and made an appointment with Peter Shupper in his Middletown office. After analysis by Dr. Shupper, and 2 visits, it was determined that the pain was not caused by the herniated disks in my back but from my hip. The hip was the real problem, not the back. So, these famed neurosurgeons to walk on water did not diagnose the origin of the pain correctly and I came so close to having surgery on the back when the hip was the problem. So, thank you Dr. Shupper for finding the root cause of my pain in relieving the pain with a simple injection.

I had a very bad experience with this doctor who misdiagnosed me with a blood clot. He is not a vascular specialist & should have just referred me to same. I did not have a blood clot, it was a fatty tumor on the back of my knee.

My aunt, Marilyn B., asked me to write as she isn't very good with technology. She was so happy with Dr. Shupper. Not only was she fully mobile and pain free after three visits but his personal follow up calls displayed compassion seldom seen today. Thank you from Aunt Marilyn and myself for taking such good care of her. Carrie Lumia

I had an appointment with this about 3 months ago. The 1st visit he was very nice and explained everything to me of what the ultrasound guided injection was going to be like. So at the end of my appointment I scheduled the appointment for 2 weeks after. So the day came fo me to have the procedure done and it took 30 mins to do, once it was over I said do I have to make another appointment he said no only if you need it. I had it done on a Friday and called on Monday and the pain was still worse then ever and the office refused to schedule me a follow up appointment until I did physical therapy. I ended up calling back that night and they told me I can’t make any appointment since they were not letting me back into the practice. This is very unprofessional.

Dr. Shupper was the first to diagnose the source of my pain after I had seen two other specialists. He is friendly, competent, and extremely thorough. It is his willingness to look beyond the surface that sets him apart. He also takes his time to explain things in ways the patient understands. I never felt rushed during any of my visits. His office staff is friendly and helpful. I will always be grateful for Dr. Shupper's help in eliminating my pain.

There are not enough words to thank Dr Shupper and Michele for all they have done for me. Dr Shupper diagnosed my problem, showed me where my problem was and together we made “a plan”. When I was sent to the ER for an unrelated problem Michele and Dr Shupper called to check on me. While I was inpatient at an outside hospital he monitored my medications and progress and was able to help facilitate my care. He found discrepancies in medications and rectified them. I cannot thank him enough. 5 stars for Dr Shupper and Michele

Dr. Shupper is fantastic. I found myself out of work for a period due to a nerve issue. It was a stressful time—and a painful one!—and I'm just thankful I was able to be treated by Dr. Shupper. This was something of a longstanding health issue. I had run the gamut of doctors and medical care and I know how a lot of doctors treated me: many seemed uncaring or eager to "process" me. It sometimes felt that they felt my pain and need was an imposition on them, and that I was another number on some corporate review sheet. I never once felt that way with Dr. Shupper. It didn't just feel like he cared—he actually did. He listened to me, he took my preferences and discomforts into account, and gave me treatment not as a number, but a human being. He not only treated me, but actively advocated for my health and well-being. I have never left Dr. Shupper's office with anything less than a feeling that I not only had a doctor, but an ally against the pain. We could use more doctors like him.

I had some problem with my shoulder and after seeing another doctor I was referred to Dr. Shupper. What a great experience! He was so affable, made me feel very at ease, and really listened to my complaint. We discussed various solutions and settled on a cortisone shot with a follow-up a few weeks later. The shoulder felt so much better with the shot & OT but that wasn't enough for Dr. Shupper. He made sure I was to get a specific workout regimen from my OT specialists so instead of coming back every 3 months for a new shot, I would strengthen my shoulder which would do benefit me much more. He's thoughtful, looks out for his patients and I would highly recommend his services. Thanks, Doc!

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Peter Shupper. He is incredibly thorough, personable, and has genuine empathy for his patients—unlike so many other doctors these days. I had been going to a large ortho group but was still looking for an alternative solution to my problems (vertebral cyst and sciatica). I was in incredible pain and facing spine surgery (the only option offered by the large practice)—which I didn’t want to undergo. Dr. Shupper is a very careful listener. He took the time to understand my entire situation, reviewed my imaging (CT scan and MRI) and then, miraculously, offered several ways to manage the pain and avoid the surgery. I have been pain free for 10 months! I highly recommend Dr. Shupper. You won’t find a more compassionate, dedicated, healthcare professional who will put your needs first.
