This guy could care less. In 2015 I went to him for a lipoma removal. The healing process was not going well. At one point he re-opened the wound and left it exposed for a couple of weeks with my wife cleaning it daily. That did not help. His recommendation was to go back for more surgery. I went for a second opinion. Not only did that doctor do the clean-up in his office, saving me a significant sum, he found that Dr. Rutledge had left material in my wound to begin with, causing the infections. He is all about the money and getting you to surgery.

Dr Rutledge is one of the BEST doctors I know. Having worked as a nurse and being one of his patients, I’ve observed his top notch bed side manner, his GENUINE care for his patients, his professionalism and his excellence through his skill set. I have recomended several family members to him, all of whom experienced the same high level of care and commitment to providing the best patient care. I’m extremely grateful to and for Dr Peter Rutledge.

Dr. Rutledge performed my surgery just two weeks ago and my recovery was unbelievably quick and easy. I teach 5th grade and the other teachers were amazed that I was able to come back to a full day of teaching after having major surgery within two short weeks. I attribute the quick recovery to having a great surgeon. Dr. Rutledge scheduled the surgery quickly and he was so encouraging throughout the whole process. I would recommend him to anyone, he is a truly skilled surgeon.

Was referred to Dr. Rutledge by my dermatologist and I was able to make an appointment on the same day. Was pleased that Dr. Rutledge was a bit older as I prefer experience over youth. Surgery can be a daunting event but he talks to you in a friendly, person-to-person manner and you can feel the confidence in his voice. The office staff is outstanding, setting up the various appointments and responding to my numerous calls. Feel very fortunate to be in the care of Dr. Rutledge.

Just had triple hernia repair and so glad to have Dr. Rutledge, his super sweet staff and all the great care and kindness I received at Harris Methodist downtown. I was treated so kindly and with such concern that my recovery is going much faster than expected. Our family has been seeing Dr. Rutledge for many years.

I had been suffering from chronic pain when I ended up in his office discussing gallbladder surgery. I was nervous and in the middle of it all I moved to California. I flew all the way back to Texas just so I could be seen and cared for by Dr. Rutledge. I liked him because he was very honest and cared for his patients much more than many doctors I had been through before. He removed my gallbladder with no complications and was there for me every step of the way. Great person and great doctor.

I would rather leave no stars! This guy is a quack. He uses practices that are barbaric and with a total disregard to the hippocratic oath, to first do no harm! Will be filing any and all paperwork in order to get this guy out of practice. Bye the way I’ve been a nurse for over 23 years and do know a bit about what is proper care! I’ve informed my referring doctor and there will be no future referrals and hopefully soon there will be no practice left to refer to!!

i loved Dr. Rutledge. I had a difficult case and he was wonderful in figuring out how to do the surgery with "out of the box" thinking. The surgery and my recovery went well . He and his staff were attentive and very helpful and caring.

I had an office visit, surgery, and subsequent follow up visits with Dr. Rutledge. I found him very competent and professional in every aspect of his practice. I would recommend Dr. Rutledge to anyone needing a General Surgeon. Dr. Rutledge's office staff was also first class, especially Lisa, his Practice Manager.

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. I needed a port. He had to try two places to get it placed. The incisions were about 5 long where my old port had approximately a 1 inch incision. He used staples on one incision and super glue on other. Why staples? He knew I had cancer and was taking chemo so should have known I would have CT scans. He did not put in a power port which is the most common port (what most doctors use) so now I can't use my port when I have CT scans. Very unhappy.
