Dr. Peter Mendel, MD

Dr. Mendel is one of the best family physicians that we have ever had! He is extremely caring, and treats us as if we were his only patients, although he has numerous patients besides us. He is very professional, considerate, and pays close attention to everything we tell him regarding our health. He responds in a personal manner, addressing each of our problems with very good solutions, recommendations and appropriate prescriptions. He is very popular with patients, and his 40+ years of experience have attracted a large clientele, so sometimes it can be a long wait to get a regular check-up. But if you have real urgency regarding a health situation, he will make time to see you as soon as possible. Several times, my husband has had an urgent problem, and Dr. Mendel has seen him right away. He is so thorough in his work, and friendly too, as if he were part of our family. We are so lucky to have the best doctor in the region! We highly recommend Dr. Mendel!

Dr. Mendel is a great and very caring doctor. He takes the time to listen and has an outstanding ability to explain everything. I've been with him for well over 25 years and he is by far the best doctor that I've ever met.

Dr. Mendel is a first-rate physician. He's saved my life numerous occasions. Literally. He listens to concerns and does a thorough work-up, consulting with specialists as warranted. His appointments run long because he doesn't rush things. He's worth waiting for, though! He's not in business to make money; he genuinely cares for people and wants to help them live their best lives.

just an excellent doctor

I am new to the area and had a few post covid complications. I went to Dr. Mendel and was shocked at how much he cared and wanted to know all of the details. Every PCP I have been to in the past seems to want you out of the door as fast as possible. Dr. Mendel really wanted to get to the root cause. I have been back one other time since for a follow up and was just as impressed. He really cares and knows what he is doing. I would recommend him to any of my family and friends!

He has been my Doctor for 20 years. He has treated me for everything from injuries after returning for military deployments to the common cold. I have total trust in Dr. Mendel. Really don't know what I'll do when I retire to Florida.

Dr Mendel takes as much time as needed with each patient. He is patient and covers all bases. He is the best physician I have had the pleasure of dealing with!

Went to see him about an issue with my stomach. Was told to get an ultra sound on my upper abdomen. When I went back for the follow up visit, I had to bring up the ultra sound. He acted like he forgot why I was there in the first place. Found out 2 weeks later from my insurance company that I was over charged BOTH times I saw him. Paid over $100 both times and only should have been charged $30 per visit. This is why I don't go to doctors unless I really have to. Won't be going back there. Disappointing considering all the other good reviews he's gotten.

Dr. Mendel is one of the most caring Doctors I have been with. He takes the time to listen and works with you to deal with your health.

The BEST of the BEST!!!!!!

The trains don't always run on time in Dr. Mendel's office. That's because he spends a great deal of time with each patient. Yes waiting is a PITA, BUT you never get the bum's rush when you finally get to see Dr. Mendel. So there are tradeoffs in everything. The staff isn't perfect, but who is? If you have a complaint, relay it to Dr. Mendel. My family has been going here for 20 yrs and we would not go anywhere else.

Dr. Mendel is the most caring and thorough physician I have ever encountered. He is very knowledgeable and takes great care to explain all procedures/conditions/treatments. I have never spent so long in an exam room in my entire life with a doctor; and that is to say that he spends an amazing amount of time with his patients while still affording everyone the same incredible level of care. Dr. Mendel is about as close to a doctor who makes "house calls" as you will ever find.

Without going into too much detail, my wife had a study done and the doctor dismissed it has nothing to worry about because she has a small slender figure. Come to find out the report actually said that she needed to seek the help of a specialist.  Rather than taking the time to address her concerns and symptoms he simply dismissed her because she did not fit the stereotypical profile for the disorder.

We are patients for 20+ years. Dr. Mendel is THE BEST! He carefully listens to assess symptoms and he is an excellent diagnostician. His treatments have been successful. His concern for the patient and his demeanor is thoroughly professional and caring. Our overall health is due, in a large part, to his exams, remedies and expert knowledge of medicines and treatments. We could not ask for a better physician. His staff and assistants are also excellent, responsive and helpful

Just try's to get money, he just uses old techniques even though they won't help me, and is not a good man... period

Office staff is poor at best. Placed on hold and forget about. Threw out prescription refill request with personal information in trash from pharmacy without notifying patient as told to me by office staff. Just very unprofessional people behind the desk. Dr Mendel is an excellent physician and the nurses are great but having to deal with the office staff is just to painful to continue to use his services.

Dr. Mendel is extremely attentive to details and time taken with me each visit. He listens carefully, is extremely thorough, and is not rushed. I highly recommend this doctor.
