Dr. Peter Masny, MD

Dr Masny has been very thorough, and listened to my years of crazy symptoms and he investigated everything in his power and found blood work to be positive in areas that dr’s in my past dismissed or he reran panels. He took me seriously and did everything to help. I appreciate him so much.

It's interesting to see others reviews after having seen Dr. Masny. My experience is that the office staff is not better or worse than anywhere else. A really good Dr can sometimes be worth the frustration of dealing with the staff. My take after my 2nd appt with Dr. Masny is that he is a very thorough doctor. At my first appointment he took his time to really understand my issues and to write everything down which I appreciated. It did require me to slow down a bit and be very clear about my symptoms. Other doctors I've seen have allowed me to quickly list my symptoms but then didn't seem to hear parts of what I said. I did not have this problems with him. At my 2nd appt there had been some miscommunication with the office that was frustrating for both me and the Dr but he worked with me and resolved it to my satisfaction. I think the medical field is a mess. It's hard to find a good doctor that listens so I will learn to navigate the office issues to be able to see a caring doctor.

Our regular Dr sent my husband to Dr Masny to check if he had dementia. I could have done that. He confirmed it and sent a report to DMV which is his job. I asked because he thought he would be my husbands Dr through all this and he replied no, he was just doing this for our regular Dr. So now we have no Dr in San Luis Obispo that will treat him. I have called everywhere listed on the Medicare website, nothing in this county. He was not helpful in any way.

Difficult to have an open dialogue with Dr. Masny - he was dismissive of my concerns. I became hesitant to ask questions for fear that they will sound irrelevant or unimportant - or sound “dumb” to him. He was not forthcoming with helpful information. I tried to switch to another doc at same office. I am not looking for second opinion - just better communication, and open conversation about concerns. No luck.

I would like to say that I've met the doctor/s in the this practice, but unfortunately it's impossible to make an appointment. My husband was referred 5 months ago to this office. We have never received a call to schedule an appointment. I have called several times and each time I was told to call back. The office staff have been short and not willing to help. I was told they are the best in the area, but if you can't make an appointment it doesn't matter how good they are.

My appointment was fine. It’s just trying to get back to the office to try and cancel an appointment so you don’t get charge for it is impossible. I have been trying to get a hold of this office for two weeks. I am very disappointed with the professionalism of this office and the way that they don’t even have a message phone that you can leave a message. I am an elderly person on a fixed income and if I can’t cancel my appointment, they can charge me for that appointment and I can’t afford it.

I would NEVER recommend this Doctor. Terrible Doctor/Patient commications skills. Wrote an improper prescription on 1st visit. Staff not helpful AT ALL! Have not had any luck with neurologists in SLO for over 20 yrs. Go south to Santa Barbara or north to the Bay Area.

Dr. Masny listened very well. Made me feel comfortable and wrote out thorough notes. I would recommend him.

I never even got in to see the doctor. The office staff Mia was incredibly rude and before even naturally finishing the call hung up on me after informing me that at some point in 6 to 8 months I’d receive a call to actually make an appointment. I’ve never been treated that poorly by a doctor’s office before becoming an actual patient. I will not be using Dr. Masny simply based on the poor behavior of his staff.

If you're seeking a neurologist who's friendly, kind, compassionate, listens well, & takes the time to answer all of your questions, Peter Masny is your guy. My wife started seeing him In January, 2020 & we couldn't be happier with how he "goes the extra mile" for her.

He takes plenty of time and listens carefully.

The front office does not answer phone and if you ask for a call back they never do call. It is hard to get an appointment in a timely manner. My appointment was canceled twice and redone for months later so I went 10 month without seeing Dr. felt like I was on this trip by myself.

He’s a great doctor. He really checks soo many things to make certain he’s explored any possible thing that might cause your illness. He listens intently to everything the patient says and discuses the topic with you immediately. Highly recommend him.

LOVE DR. MASNY, HE IS WONDERFUL, KIND, CARING AND THOROUGH. HOWEVER HIS BLONDE MATA HARI FRONT OFFICE RECEPTIONIST (SHE SITS IN THE CENTER AND SEEMS TO BE THE BIG HIGH MUCKY MUCK) SHE IS THE RUDEST, MOST UNCARING MEDICAL STAFF PERSON WE HAVE EVER MET. VERY SAD, WE STOPPED GOING TO HIM BECAUSE WE JUST DID NOT WANT TO BE INSULTED BY HER ANYMORE. SHE HAS O CUSTOMER COURTESY AND CARING, AND IS INCREDIBLY DEMANDING, WITH NO CAUSE OR REASON. IF SHE WERE GONE WE WOULD GO BACK. WE ARE IN OUR 80'S

Terrible customer service!!! After leaving numerous voice mails regarding being referred by my PCP and waiting nearly two months I NEVER received a call back. Notified my physician, who had to call the office themselves. Turns out they don't take my insurance but couldn't be bothered to let me know. Lousy lousy treatment.
