Avoid This Self Professed 'Old Timey' Dr
Telehealth
Self professed old timey doctor only provides paper prescriptions so you cannot do mail order. Does phone consults, not video. Had trouble filling prescription and requested he call in to mail order and receptionist kept reiterating doctor is old fashioned and won't do it. Ultimately scheduled a phone consult to try to change prescription and said I would call next morning to cancel if I found supply. After driving all over town and finding it, called the next morning to cancel and was advised a $50 cancellation fee. Unconscionable business practices and complete lack of empathy for a psychiatric practice.

severely disapointed
Dr Blaes was dismissive of my concerns and pretty much ignored everything I have shared with him about the episodes I have observed. He ushered me out barely a few minutes into the appointment claiming "our time is up". I am completely disappointed how uncaring and unprofessional the whole visit felt. If you are looking for professional help you may want to skip Town Center Psychiatrics.

Dr. Blaes is friendly, but I seriously question his attention to patient safety and health. He gives pills to patients, very little concern about treatment, possible impact on other parts of their medical conditions, even when told. Gives medication not advised for those over 65 to seniors.

Excellent. A long time ago, you saw a psychiatrist for therapy. Not how it's practiced today. I have been seeing Dr. Blaes for over 10 years. At our first meeting, he took nearly two hours getting a mental, emotional, and physical history. Since that time, I see him every 3 months, and my scripts are then "new" every 3 months. With Dr. Blaes, the patient is accountable for how they are doing, not the doctor. He is open to changing or titrating up or down the doses of the medications to fit his patient's needs. Psychiatry is the most imperfect "science", but it is what we have for mental health and treating mental illness today. Insurance companies have created these circumstances where doctors have little time with their patients, but what time I do have, Dr. Blaes is attentive to the entire time.

I've been a patient of Dr. Blaes for a number of years. He is patient and responsive. He tried various combinations of medicines until we found one that worked. I don't hesitate to refer friends in need to him.

This doctor has an excellent practice pushing pills. He does not engage in the therapy that is necessary to determine if the pills are appropriate or sufficient. Nice guy, but has psychiatry come down to seeing someone every 3 months for a paper refill of a drug but the doctor receives a full fee from the insurance company?

No stars for this QUACK! My brother was a patient of Dr. Blaes for almost 3 years. In that time, Dr. Blaes subscribed medications that caused more depression and increased paranoia. My brother committed suicide a little over 2 weeks ago. If you are referred to this Psychiatrist, DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH HIM. Find someone else! This man should not be practising Psychiatry at ALL.

Dr. Blaes has helped me throughout the years for anxiety and depression. Front desk is pleasant and accommodating, doctor is brisk but attentive and knowledgeable to my concerns. ...parking isn't great. :) But the service has been very good for me.

I had an unfortunate situation with Dr. Blaes, he was helpful in the beginning of my treatment however, he abruptly stopped all treatment with me. Dr. Blaes failed to send a letter to me so that I am aware. I tried to set up a follow up appointment with him but my voice massages went unanswered. After a few weeks, I attempted to get an appointment with Dr. Blaes only to be ignored two more times again. I later learned from his staff that he since he is ignoring my phone messages, that means

From April, 2015-November, 2016, Dr. Blaes was my psychiatrist. We chose Dr. Blaes solely because of his office location. His charge is $125/office visit. My visits were once/month. Wait time was short. He spent an average of 8-10 minutes/visit with me. Always he seemed distracted. Dr. Blaes' strong interest in his finances contrasts with a remarkable disinterest in his patients' well-being. We hope our answers to this survey will help others.

I went to Dr Blase for memory loss and inability to focus (easily distracted) I received adderall to help be focus better, but my memory continued to decline. I met with him every three months for years,a nd every time I asked what can I do to improve this, its affecting my marriage. And every time, the answer was nothing. Nothing is out there that can help. Tonight my wife finally decided to leave permanently. And the biggest reason was my inability to remember little mistakes that repeated.
