COMMUNICATION VERY POOR
I tried 3 times to communicate to Dr. Ameglio that I was allergic to metal: 1.) in my paperwork; 2.) left message with one of his staff when he walked out of the room when I tried to tell him; and 3.) when I was being wheeled into the operating room when I finally had his direct attention. The anesthesiologist had already given me a nerve block. Dr. Ameglio sent me home with a total leg support because he needed to send away for a non-metal knee replacement. He installed it a few days later. He admitted that he had made this mistake before on a different patient. Both before and after the surgery, I was provided with very little information on what to expect and what to do. I asked for physical therapy after there being no discussion about it. I was very unhappy with post surgical pain medication. I was not given a narcotic until I asked (which was not strong enough to help). The home health nurses told me about using ice for pain. I wish that I had gone to a larger practice.

He is so awesome, I flew back to see him!
I saw Dr. Ameglio for an SI joint fusion last year on the right side. He was confident that this surgery would resolve my long-standing issues and pain on that side, but did note that I may require a bilateral SI fusion. I put my faith in him and his expertise. His quiet and calming demeaner was the exact approach I needed to help alleviate my fears. He is so humble and kind, yet a knowledgeable surgeon. My surgical outcomes far exceeded my expectations. Fast forward a year- my right side is perfect but my left cont'd to be problematic. At this point, I had moved out of Florida and tried to find a doctor close to where I live. I was treated poorly and did not have confidence in anyone I saw. I flew to FL to see Dr. A again- recovering from my left SI joint surgery- even better than the last time. At less than 2 weeks from surgery, I am already able to do things I haven't done in a decade. I am so grateful for his competent, kind, and compassionate care. He is truly gifted.

Dr. Ameglio’s knowledge, skill, and compassion are unsurpassed. He listened to my concerns and took the time to answer my questions before successfully operating on, first my right foot, then my left, one year later. After many years of painful walking, my feet are pain free. Thank you, Dr. Ameglio!

Dr. Ameglio has a great personality but unfortunately he never discussed my X-rays with me , that his staff ordered. He gave me a brief physical examination and started steroid injections. I did explain of my past herniated disc surgery and mentioned that my pain closely matched those experiences of a decade ago. The office also ignored repeated requests for pain medications. He’s given up after one steroid injection and referring me to a Pain Management practice. Why not a surgeon with herniated disc experience? I’m very disappointed with the care received.

is is the worst care as a patient I've ever received. I had a accident with my knee about a month ago I contacted Peter ameglio orthopedic to find out the damage. It took almost 2 weeks to get an appointment. Finally the day comes I go to the appointment and find out I need surgery. The day before the operation I'm harrased my the office saying I have to pay the surgeon fees upfront before he does my surgery. Something I've never heard done since I have insurance but out of desperation I paid in full and was ready to go. The day of the surgery comes I arrive at lee memorial at 1230 for my scheduled operation at 1 pm. I get settled in they take my information, I've changed my clothes, been given the medication needed to proceed with my surgery. Ameglio walks in and asks if I'm ready to go and that the next step is for the anesthesiologist to put me to sleep. At this point it is 3 o'clock 3 hours and 30 minutes after arrival. 20 minutes pass the message I was given caused me to fall asle

I had hip replacement surgery via SuperPath Nov 2019 by Dr Ameglio. It’s been a little more than 6 months and I can’t stop singing the praises of Dr Ameglio and his staff! Due to Covid19, I haven’t had my follow up visits yet, but my hip feels fantastic! I overdid the first 2 weeks after surgery and had severe low back pain. Dr Ameglio gave me 1 injection to the SI joint and I walked out of the office pain free holding my crutches. I then continued my exercises and haven’t had any further issues. This doctor knows his stuff! He takes the time to explain and answer every question and concern very calmly and patiently (and I had a bunch). I would highly recommend Dr Ameglio!

Dr. Ameglio recently did my hip replacement. Utilizing his Super Path Method, I was out and about in no time. My pain was minimal as was my post op restrictions. I couldn’t be more pleased. Dr. Ameglio is now my “go to” guy for any orthopedic issues. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone contemplating orthopedic surgery.

Dr. Amegio and his team are exceptional. I was so uncomfortable with the idea of hip replacement surgery I put if off for a long time. While doing research of latest improvements in procedures I came across Dr.Ameglio and the SuperPath technique. I met with Dr. Ameglio. He took the time to make both myself and wife comfortable. He spent time . Offered easy to understand answers. I was only in the hospital one day but saw Dr. Ameglio three times with him making sure I was doing well. If you need an orthopedic surgeon you'll do yourself a great disservice if you don't speak with Dr Ameglio.

SuperPath & Dr.Ameglio – Mar 05, 2020
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Ameglio?
I met Dr Ameglio quite by accident - my hip was broken and he was the Surgeon who performed emergency surgery. He explained the nature of my break and went on to tell me it was my lucky day..i qualified for a Superpath replacement. It truly was my luckiest day ever. Surgery was a breeze...my recovery has been great..I had an old knee problem and he has that under control as well. He is a tremendous Doctor who honestly cares about his patients. A true breath of fresh air in "big business" medicine.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the care my daughter received from Dr. Ameglio. Any parent knows how challenging it can be to communicate with a teenager. Not only did Dr. Ameglio take the time to listen to her, but he connected with her too. I knew the connection was real when she actually followed through and did EXACTLY everything on her treatment plan. That was a miracle in itself! She is now back to riding her horse and her Equestrian team knows that if they are ever in need of an orthope

Dr. Ameglio showed absolutely no compasion during my visit. Other doctors in the practiced had told me to be non weight bearing on my lefy hip until the surgery There was a chance of the bone collasping. Dr. Ameglio told me that wasn't true and if it collasped then it collasped. At one point he said that I should find another doctor because he could not help me. He was rude, flippant and very uncaring. I would trust him to operate on me.
