Very professional. Listened to what my issues have been and made suggestions I felt comfortable with.

Dr. Hooper and the staff at Southern Orthopedics are awesome! Saw him for my knee; he has really good bedside manner and explained things in a way I could understand. He made sure I knew what the plan was going forward. He’s very thorough and doesn’t make you feel rushed at all.

Office staff was welcoming, a short wait to see Dr. Hooper. I was very impressed with his care, compassion and the time he took explaining my situation and plans going forward. I definitely recommend him highly!

Back in June of 2021 I was badly mauled by a large pit bull. Dr. Hooper had recently treated my wife for a broken shoulder. Apparently he learned about me while I was in the ER getting scanned (broken arm and fractured vertebra) and made the connection. He pulled some strings and got me in his surgery center within a few hours to irrigate the wound and stitch me up (my arm was "hamburger"). Later I learned from a friend of mine who was a "pic" nurse (IV antibiotic specialist) that a big part of her practice was dog bite infections. I didn't need a pic line and my arm is now fully functional. I think we can conclude that, in addition to being a good surgeon, Dr. Hooper cares about his patients.

Dr Hooper III provided all the information I would need, review of the MRI, options for surgery as well as recommendation for various other methods depending on the level of use. The surgery was seamless, with the anesthesiologist keeping me out entirely. Rehab is going well, but he also provided directions for recovery.
