Dr Wetzel was on Call Physician at Sierra Vista one evening ..I was in alot of pain and couldn't stop vomiting. This man was the only Gastroenterologist on the central coast to diagnose me correctly With Gastroparesis ...a nuclear swalliw test confirmed. So , He changed my diet and took me off all medications that would delay emptying...??? I totally appreciate the other Gastro doctors trying to help me ...but I was exhausting to say the least with all the back and forth to the ER. .....Today I still follow his medication and dietary advice and have had zero complications with gastroparesis. Dr Wetzel is compassionate and open to suggestions. This is a great doctor. SLO county is blessed to have him.

Just had a colonoscopy with Paul Wetzel. He is professional, friendly, and accessible, as were all his staff/team, starting with : Jessica (front desk), Christine (who admitted me and got me started), Lisa (who brought me to the operations room, attended to me post-colonoscopy, and escorted me to my pick-up vehicle), and Anne (who did a fine job as the anesthesiologist). I was previously seen by his assistants to prepare me for the procedure. All were professional and supportive.

Dr Wetzel proves to be a very personable, professional physician. He has been forthcoming with me in regard to my condition, and has not been reluctant to refer me to another doctor that may have more knowledge in a particular area. I highly recommend his services.

I feel these people just gave me the worst customer service and they just act like they don't really like there jobs and that we are here to write them checks for large amounts of money. Is there any doctor who went to medical school just to help humankind?

Dr Wentzel has helped solve a long standing health "mystery" that has bothered me for years. He listens, pays attention to my suggestions and answers questions. He is very caring and has a warm and gentle manner. I have recommended him to family and friends and will continue to do so. I'm so glad I found him!

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Wetzel?
Dr. Wetzel insists on his patients taking 'drugs' that are harmful over a long period of time, when the warnings on boxes/labels clearly state, to Not take these drugs, (for the esophagus) esp. for any long period of time than is recommended, which is only a few of weeks, but they tell you otherwise, meaning rest of your life. I went in for extreme pain in my face that Dr. W. didn't know anything about; it turned out to be 'Trigeminal Neuralgia' and it had nothing to do with my esophagus.
