Ultimately Dr. Smith runs a very old school practice where he knows best and your opinions and wishes aren't valued very much. I told the hospital staff when I tours EMMC that I wanted to have a drug free birth. The nurse literally said "But you're one of Dr. Smith's patients so we'll see what happens". Sure enough an epidural was forced on me after I repeated said I didn't want one (I was told that my choice was the epidural or a c-section so the choice was clear. Not "natural" birth friendly!

Ask on the phone if all your scheduled appointments will be with this doctor! You might see him ONCE! This is not an exaggeration! Doctors that care about their patients do not operate like this. You get passed off over and over and if you ask to see him again you are told too bad and that's how they run their practice.
