Dr. Paul Slocum, MD

Dr Slocum is probably a good Dr if you have a typical gynecological issue. I don't, I have an obvious injury to my c-section scar from a car accident. I explained everything to him and told him that I believe it's making me ill and have had to self medicate with blood thinning vitamins just to make it through the day. He sent me to physical therapy for 8 weeks (I tried to ask why I need PT for a csection injury and didnt get a response) on my follow-up (after 8wks of PT) he told me that he didn't know that I had a hysterectomy (he did a physical exam on my 1st visit and we even talked about the vaginal cuff) and arrogantly told me that he couldn't fix my issue and told me to go to a general surgeon. He also told me to do sciatica exercises. Two back surgeons told me that I do not have anymore pinched nerves and I already told him that on my 1st visit. The general surgeon just refused to do my surgery (probably because I've had a hysterectomy) and said that a gynecologist should do it.

My husband and I were impressed with the thoroughness of the explanation of my condition, and Dr. Slocum gave options for treatment. He was available, attentive, and efficient. I had successful surgery, a smooth recovery, and excellent results. I highly recommend Dr. Slocum.

Loved that Dr. slocum explained the procedures and laid out all the options for me very well. He took his time to listen to my issues and did a thorough pre-op examination. Staff members are great help. You get your questions answered right away through the patient portal. Yessica specially has been exceptional. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family.

Dr . Slocum is extremely thorough and a wonderful intent listener . He pays close attention to details and does not have a haphazard office staff . He REALLY focuses on the concerns of the person in front of him and is seems sincere in helping problems get solved . I also find him kind and easy to talk with , even when I was worried and rather emotional about my concern. I sense he is a caring human being as well as a sharp and thorough physician. I do not sense he has a big ego , which is pleasant .

I wanted to share that I am so grateful for my bladder sling surgery with Dr. Slocum. I was a little afraid with the potential risks, but my life is so much better afterwards! I haven't had any trouble, and I can now do jumping jacks in my gym class with no issues. I love being active, and it is awesome to no longer fear the next accident. I am 60 and I encourage any of you thinking about it. Dr. Slocum was encouraging and professional and I wanted some way to thank him. I hope I have. Grateful and anonymous, Garland resident

at first i was anxious but after talking to the receptionist, i got relaxed, It is a place i would recommend to all my friends, relatives and neighbors, I am so glad my doctor chose them, They get 100% my care from now on , Thank you very much Dr. Slocum jr. and your nurses. this May 4th, visit 2021

Dr. Slocum and his staff are the best! Having to have surgery Dr. Slocum explained everything in detail where I was able to understand what exactly was going to need to be done. I was very comfortable knowing he was going to perform my surgery. All went well and my recovery was a success. Cynthia, who is the nurse at the office is very sweet and attentive to the patients. She is very knowledgeable and answered any questions I had for her.

I saw Dr. Slocum today for the first time and was very impressed. He's very thorough, explains things in a way you understand, is very conservative in his approach, and listened to what I had to say. I was concerned he would immediately recommend surgery but gave me alternatives as well. He allowed plenty of time for a new patient and I never felt rushed. He has a good sense of humor and I felt comfortable with him by the time I left. Also, his staff was courteous, friendly and very nice. I will definitely recommend him to friends and family members.

Dr. Slocum and staff are very professional and courteous. They took the time to make sure i understood everything and answered any questions. Always making sure I was comfortable every step of the way from pre surgery to post. So glad to have such an amazing team to help me during a difficult time.

I was a little hesitant at first because I hadn’t had a male gynecologist for 20 years. Very quickly Dr Slokum put me at ease. Of course he’s very respectful and always has his nurse in the room during the exam. He is very comprehensive and allows for as much time as needed for questions. I highly highly recommend him and his whole staff.
