Thank you Dr. Reilly!
I am so grateful I was referred to his group therapy. His methods are eccentric, but I appreciate the way he used the destructive way I thought about myself to goad me into refuting my negative ways of viewing the world. You have to be able to look beyond being sensitive to hearing old tapes that are already lurking in your mind. Thank you Dr, Reilly.

Improved My Life Dramatically
Just about everything that is good today in my life I owe to Dr. Reilly and the groups he's led. I recommend him without reservation. I was convinced at first that group therapy would not work for me, but my primary care MD insisted that I give Dr. Reilly a try before he would recommend any 1 on 1 therapist. I was wrong about group therapy. Group therapy as practiced by Dr. Reilly is amazingly effective. Call him.

6 years ago, my parents encouraged me to see Dr. Reilly. I was hospitalized from suicidal ideations and depression, made mistakes, and lost my job right after graduation. I needed therapy to deal with where I was. I knew I messed up, and my self esteem was low. I listened to him, and went to multiple sessions on a weekly basis for 6 months. He consistently put me down in front of the group, and they would agree with him. I had several breakdowns during sessions, and felt very defeated. It wasn’t until my dad went to his group sessions that I quit, because he said it was unhealthy. After years of therapy, I’ve healed from that experience, and I am leading a successful career. I work for a tech company developing training for fortune 100 companies, I have national TV spots from a previous employer, and work with nonprofits to help people build confidence and develop job skills. I didn’t die or succumb to alcohol. I found God, my fiancé, grew close to family, and moved on. Don’t go.

Doctor Reilly is an interesting figure. He is very opinionated and takes his opinions on politics, women and "the blacks" into his appointments with patients and group therapy. It does not belong there. He is an okay doctor because there are some truths that he sprinkles into his opinions. For example, he states that when in group therapy you rise to the psychological level of the leader (him). But at the end of the day, I DO NOT want to be like Dr.Reilly.

I haven't seen him as a patient since 2015, but I have been suspicious of him since leaving. I saw him for a year while I was at school in Williamsburg and I left because I graduated and moved. When I left group he tried to manipulate me to stay by saying I was making excuses for not wanting to drive an hour+ just to stay. He was only happy if your success was a result of his advice. Any GOOD psychiatrist will be happy for you to make independent progress in life and will work toward having the tools to graduate from therapy. He told me to stop calling my parents Mom/Dad and to stop phoning them from school (completely normal) because it was codependency. If you are a current patient and are using his definitions to discredit me, my relationship with my family is supportive and healthy. His intent was to distance me from them. This "Dr." is a cult leader. He purposefully isolates you from family and friends so that he has control over you and your money!!

Years ago, when I had undiagnosed bipolar disorder, I went to one of Dr. Reilly's groups. He was weirdly aggressive and controlling, and if I hadn't been so depressed and numb, I probably would have been scared of him. When I was hospitalized with a psychotic break, he abandoned me as a patient and wrote a note accusing me of being deceptive because I'd confessed to having hoarded pills in a suicide attempt. He broke my trust in psychiatrists for a long time.

I notice from the reviews that people who see him love him or hate him. They either get turned off right away or give him a chance and find him remarkably helpful. My experience with him was nothing short of amazing. I would not have believed I could feel that much better. He isn't a typical psychiatrist. He's a little unconventional. (Such as having a spartan office and zero staff.) But he's straightforward, trustworthy, truly compassionate, absolutely brilliant and incredibly effective.

His style may be unorthodox, but after years of being miserable and depressed, I finally am getting healthy. That is because of Dr. Reilly and his group-therapy model. I don't have to like my therapist/doctor. I simply need to trust that they have my best interests at heart, and this man does. Strongly recommend for those looking to get better.

Absolutely would not recommend. He was cold, tried to force me into taking medicine that I was not allowed to bear children on and would have been barred from looking up information on it. Also, insisted on cash, which is a little sketchy.

I showed up for my appointment, I showed Dr. Reilly an article that my husband had found, he scoffed at it. When I told him that I was not comfortable doing group therapy he showed me the door and said he wasn't the doctor for me, this after he told me he does individual therapy as well as group therapy. Waste of an hour and a half of my time.

Extraordinarily insightful, with a demonstrated track record of success among those who are willing to commit to taking group therapy seriously and to face up to their issues. Best MD I have ever found--period.

This man operates a cult. Many prominent mental health professionals despise his approach. He operates groups with as many as 20-30 individuals. How much personalized care could you possibly get in that situation? He is rude and often downright mean. I met with him one time and he attacked and berated me when I felt it was not the place for me. He uses manipulation to convince his clients they need him. No ethics, no moral center, and no compassion. He expects hero worship from his patients.Run!

Short and incredibly cold. Explained that I was seeking evaluation for depression so my cat could be registered as an ESA, as I have been suffering from (untreated) long-standing depression and am moving alone to a new city for graduate school. Was told he doesn't do that, and that anyone can say they have depression to get their pet to school. I was obviously distressed and holding back teas over the phone, and cannot believe how dismissive he was.

Awful encounter. This is one of the rudest individuals I've ever met. Because I questioned why I was providing my SS# (merely 90 seconds after meeting this man) and explained I don't usually do this he became agitated and annoyed. Told me he wasn't the Doctor for me. This reaction from a supposed medical doctor and therapist after a 4 minute verbal exchange. You're right Mr. Reilly you are NOT the doctor for me. Your lack of manners and display of utter intolerance is mind blowing.

Straightforward, practical, and answers his own phone - absolutely zero hold please (10 minutes of soothing hold music) he's not in right now. If you truly want help, he's who you see. Complacency is not an option.

Don't be put off by the negative reviews. Dr.Reilly is an experienced psychiatrist who is serious and committed to his patients. He was able to see me within a few days of my initial call to him. He listened to my past experience with medications and was able to prescribe something that has worked very well for me. After a few months in therapy, I have already seen a noticeable improvement in my anxiety levels. I believe Dr.Reilly can help anyone who is serious about getting healthy.
