Not up to date on new research in health care
Has very limited understanding of newer scientific programs for optimal health. Keeps preaching old-school medication. Back office is not supportive, not responding to contact. For the 3rd year I again got billed for tests that insurance doesn't cover and which I specifically didn't want. Dr. didn't order proper new tests for LDL cholesterol that I requested. I have lived a Keto lifestyle for at least 4 years, am very healthy and fit and not overweight, yet Dr. wants me on Statins. No thank you.

Dr. Barnickel has been my internist for more than a decade. He has the nicest personality and a kind spirit. He is a great listener. His office is well run. I highly recommend him. I wish he was affiliated with Jersey Shore University Medical Center instead of Monmouth Medical Center.
