Dr. Patrick Wiater, MD

Everything went fairly well, got seen, x rays taken, spoke to a PA first then Patrick Wiater. Typical Orthopedic Surgeon bedside manner, didn’t introduce himself and then basically “brushed my wife off” implying it’s nothing serious. If it wasn’t serious, why did we take he time to visit an orthopedic specialist? Anyway, nice guy and all, but my wife needed to hear him say “Don’t worry mam, I’ll fix you up good as new”. He did order and MRI of her knee and I’m really shows a matchup with her scan and her symptoms. We’ll know soon. Great office and staff, didn’t wait long to be seen and everyone we met today was wonderful. I’ll definitely refer this place to a friend or family member, but just wish a few tweaks would happen to make it even butter. Just a little constructive criticism.

Very busy office that is run super efficiently. Dr. Patrick Wiater is very knowledgeable, and listened to my story before explaining my options for treatment.

I broke my R leg several years ago and Dr Wiater did surgery to fix my tibia and fibula. I now need to have the smaller rod removed and I know I can trust him to do it right!His manner is friendly and he takes his time to explain everything that needs to be done.I have every confidence in his skill as a surgeon and I know everything will be OK.I would not hesitate to recommend him or the rest of the staff at Michigan Orthopaedic Surgeons, PC.

I arrived early for my appointment, as requested. Ended up not going back until over an hour past the appointment time and then waited another 15 minutes in the patient room. They need to work on scheduling. Doc was friendly - quick discussion and had to remind them of both items they X-Rayed.

The online paperwork I filled out I had a problem with because it cut me off and wouldn’t let me throughly complete it before it submitted. The doctor didn’t listen to what I had to say. Told me I needed a full hip replacement but said he wouldn’t do it just yet. I asked why would I wait if I was in extreme pain and I wasn’t able to do much due to chronic pain. He then said that he could refer me to somebody that does arthroscopic surgery on hips. I was left in the office waiting for PT rx and referral and 10 minutes passed and I left and went to the front check out. They didn’t have it ready. After I left I went to the car to schedule an appointment, it was then that I noticed the prescription for physical therapy was written for my finger which was completely wrong. It was a terrible experience. I then saw my online chart and Dr Waiter stated that the patient would benefit from a full hip replacement but said that I was to physically active right now. That was a lie.

I am a guardian of his patient and finally my brother got a Dr who knew what to do. I would definitely recommend Dr. Patrick Wiater.

Dr. Patrick Wiater is a very thorough doctor. He is very well at explaining situations and what must be done so you are able to recover. He is blunt but in a good way where there is hope behind his message for his patient. Dr Patrick Wiater is a great orthopedic surgeon and I would highly recommend him.

Took the time with assessment and to go over options, very realistic about recovery time and always is truthful with responses to questions.
