Wasted our time and put my wife in undo discomfort. The office had my wife scheduled with a different doctor in the same office but the doctor she was going to see was in surgery and wouldn't be able to meet the appointment time. So the office switched her and gave her a appointment time of 1:45. They requested that she be there at 1:15 for check in. Not to get into it all, but my wife has to flush her colon 2 hours and 1 hour before the appointment. With us living 30 minutes away, there was no way, after the flush we were going to meet the requested 30 minutes early. We got there at 1:35, checked in, and then promptly told we would have to reschedule because the rigid doctor wants all new patients to be there 30 minutes early. So basically, to meet the unrealistic timeline we would have had to bring the stuff with us and just used the office bathroom or stopped at a gas station on the way. If you have an appointment that's when you need to be there. If you want people to wait 30 minutes, then schedule with the 30 minutes added in like every other Doctor. This is a waste of time, gas, and unnecessary discomfort for the wife and I. And he didn't even have the courage to come say it. He sent a nurse who was obviously annoyed and was unfairly crass with my wife. So much so that the receptionist literally mouthed "I'm sorry" while the nurse was getting snippy with my wife. Maybe the guy is a great surgeon, but it seems like he is lousy at dealing with people and employees a real pain of a nurse.

Rigid and Uncompassionate
Was actually supposed to see another doctor but because the one I was supposed to see was in surgery I was given an appointment with Dr. Szeto. I was told my appointment was at 1:45 and that I should arrive at 1:15. According to the prep sheet I was supposed to use an enema 2 hours before the visit and 1 hour before the visit. I could not make the requested 1:15 because I was uncontrollably eliminating after the second, but I arrived at 1:35, before my actual appointment. I checked in and then was told because I wasn't there at 1:15 I would need to reschedule and that Dr. Szeto expects and requires all new patients to show up 30 minutes before their scheduled appointment. I live 30 minutes away and there is no way of meeting that expectation unless I preformed the enema at his office or at a gas station on the way there. So all I got was a rude nurse, who was clearly irritated by having to relay the message, and a wasted 30 minute drive after dealing with discomfort the whole drive.

Sigmoid Colectomy (Resection) diverticulitis
At 48 years of age and never having any major surgeries I was nothing short of being afraid. This was during the peak of Covid, and I am sure that this added to my anxiety. Dr. Szeto was straight forward in his consultation and displayed a strong confidence in his ability and the expected outcome of the procedure. He was honest and stated that he would know more about my issue once he started the surgery. The day of the surgery, I was comforted by the fact that members of his team were friendly and actually listened to my concerns. They reassured me all the way back to the operating room that they were there for me and cared. The surgery was supposed to be a laparoscopic procedure and started that way. During the procedure, he had to do a partial one hand assisted open surgery because he wanted to ensure that he was thorough. I highly recommend Dr. Szeto for the professionalism and thoroughness that he exhibited. It's been 3 years with no major issues.

If I could not give any stars I would. Dr. Szeto did his version of treating my abcess. He had horrible bed side manner. He was ride and lacked compassion. He didn't take my level of pain seriously. I had NO POST OP treatment. After he did the surgery I was on my own. I had ONE follow up visit and had to request the other visits on my own where he showed no regard for my healing process. Needless to say my wound never healed properly. I was left with a hole that has a thick layer of scar tissue that is extremely painful to live with. Not to mention my abcess returning and I knew not to return to him. If you are suffering from an abcess or fistula good luck choosing him for your care.

Amazing doctor that is exceptionally competent and thorough in his practice. His understanding and communication is very professional and appreciative. My procedure results were fantastic and I highly recommend Dr. Szeto. I am not sure about him being a Kentucky fan, but...Go Hogs!

Dr Szeto is caring and takes time to listen to your concerns and explains what to expect during any procedure. You don’t feel rushed during the visit and your apptn wait time is less than 5 minutes in my two appointments. I would highly recommend him to others.

He talks too much and doesn’t listen. He went as far as to tell me to just listen to him and stop talking. He is rude and arrogant as well. Never had any procedures by him thankfully.

Discretion is not a concern with this doctor as he talks loud during consults in rooms with thin walls. His office staff are not able to process patients in a timely manner. Arrived and checked in 30 minutes ahead of my appointment time and per their policy brought to their attention that I had not been seen 30 minutes after my appointment time. Still was not seen so I left. 1 week later insurance billed for procedure and medications not administered or prescribed.
