Dr Sewel has changed my life for the better in so many ways. I feel safe and well taken care of in his care and highly recommend those needing one on one care to go see him he’s a 10 out of 10.

Dr. Sewell is extremely well educated, intelligent, compassionate and has an exceptional ability to communicate with me as a patient: explaining how my medications will help me, and discussing options for medications, based upon the symptoms/emotional struggles I may be facing due to life circumstances at the time. He also has a vast knowledge not only from his teaching career, but also from his years working with patients, which enables him to communicate anaccurate assessment of my situation, and effective coping strategies to bring me up the learning curve on how to live a better life.

One of the things I appreciate the most about Dr. Sewell is his open-mindedness and willingness to accept my input as a patient about what is best for me. I feel like treatment with him is a collaborative effort. He provides expert guidance with great communication and I trust his medical decisions, as well his insights and suggestions. I feel safe, seen and heard with him as a person, instead of just a problem to be solved-- a feeling I have unfortunately had when seeing other psychiatrists. I don't think it's a coincidence his treatment plan for me has yielded the most improvement for me in my mental health journey so far.

Update as of 5/2019 Dr. Sewell is extremely intelligent when it comes to properly diagnosing patients and truly does care about the treatment plan he places you on. He spends a lot of time speaking with me, gives great suggestions on how to cope and decrease the triggers that either causes my mania& depressive state associated with Bipolar Depression, severe anxiety, panic problems, insomnia, along with a few other diagnoses. He placed me on medication which has minimum side effects for me, personally; my mind & mood has been more stable . If he needs to switch medications for better results, he will discuss in detail what medication he believes will have a better result and discuss other options if you have major concerns of his suggestion he’s compassionate and understanding. I have been his patient for nearly a year and see him often. If I have problems, I call the office and when I was experiencing severe issues, he will personally call me back to check on me & get an update. A+
