he did a laminectomy on l5 gave me nerve damage to my left foot and lied about it. he did not repair the disc that needed it. Then wanted to do a fusion, he gave me a book to read about fusions and told me if had any questions call. I never attend the surgery. By all means, if you want a good outcome, go to Mobile, auburn or Birmingham for surgery.

Had a 6 month followup scheduled for after an updated brain scan. The appointment was scheduled with Dr. Ryan, however, a nurse practitioner came in and asked why was I there today. The appointment was scheduled in February as I was leaving my appointment because Dr. Ryan ordered a new scan and followup in 6 months. The nurse practitioner made me feel like a fool for being there when their office scheduled the visit. I was supposed to see Dr. Ryan, not a nurse practitioner l. Even the nurse that did the triage stated Dr. Ryan would be in in a few minutes. I have been very satisfied with previous neck surgeries, but this series of visits I’ve felt like, I’ve been treated 2nd rated and I’m totally disappointed. I was also told by this office in March that I had Multiple Myelomas and referred to a tumor specialist at UAB who walked in the room and said, “I want to ease your mind, you have Fibrous Dysplasia. So I’m pretty much done with Montgomery Nuerosurgical Associates.

Explained my test results and listened and addressed my questions and concerns.

Looooooooong office wait time, but well worth it! He made a VERY scary neck surgery seem like a walk in the park. I barely spent any time in the hospital, and my healing process was even easier than the surgery itself. I was pain free immediately afterwards. I would definitely refer Dr. Ryan to anyone facing surgery.

Excellent Surgeon! Always smiling, truthful, helpgul. I had not been to see him in several years and he remembered me. He jumped right in and scheduled my surgery without putting me through testing and treatments that would not work. He just fixed it! He and his staff have been very patient and helpful during my post op period. I am grateful! Even though I fear I am bothering them they assure me I am not. That is important to me!
