Dr. Patrick Pieper, MD

My 89 year old, African-American mother, who is wheelchair dependent and unable to sit for long periods of time, arrived at her schedule 9:45am appointment. Needless to say, it is extremely difficult for to prepare and make her appointments, but with assistance, she does not miss her doctor appointments. During her visit at Patrick Pieper's office, she asked to use the restroom. After returning to her room, a nurse informed my mother that she can no longer be seen as Patrick has other patients and she took too long in the bathroom. He also suggested if she wanted to wait in the office for 3 to 4 hours, he might be able to see her, but there was no guarantee. I found his tactics inhumane and will never subject my mother to his insensitive practices.

Pieper works at a clinic attached to a teaching hospital - probably especially targeted at Medi-Cal patients. The patients at this ENT clinic aren't really given the dignity of actually giving consent to be initially diagnosed by a student, because the consent process involves quickly handing back and forth a tablet at the sign-in window while the line may be accumulating. These patients should be treated more like people than animals, and the consent format and method needs legal review.

Worst ever Dr and his stupid staff

I saw Dr. Pieper over the period of a few years. I found him very helpful and professional. He put tubes in my ears due to dysfunctional eustachian tubes (and severe allergies). It greatly improved my comfort and hearing!
