Knee replacement
Dr Kwok explained everything before the surgery. He made sure that I was healthy enough to withstand the surgery before he scheduled it. After the surgery, he even sent me some flowers. And the day I came home from the hospital, he called me that night just to make sure I was OK. And if I was treated well at the hospital, I would recommend Dr. Kwok. Melissa, who works with Dr. Kwok was also extremely helpful and caring

Rotator cuff and frozen shoulders
He took his time to go through MRI images with me and explained all available options and his recommendation.

Arrogant, Rude, No Real Answers, Failed Surgery
Dislocated shoulder and torn labrum. Needed a surgery and this was the guy they gave me. He told me he had to “tighten everything else up” besides the labrum… whatever that means. When I asked he gave me a runaround answer without any real explanation. It was incredibly painful for months after surgery, I kept going back to him and he said “no one gets another MRI earlier than 6 months after surgery. If you want me to go back in there, I’ll go back in there” in a super frustrated, put-off, and condescending manner. He then told me to keep taking oxy WEEKS after surgery because “I can’t handle pain.” Well it’s been over 5 months now and every movement still hurts and I wake up in pain everyday. Don’t know how he still has his license with the way he treated me and how much pain I’m still in, clearly he did something wrong. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this guy.

Seemed reluctant to order imaging. Pawned me off to a month of PT with no other guidance. No improvement, went back, finally got an MRI, was told that I had an issue that was NOT documented in the after visit notes and was told surgery was the only next step. Mind you the surgery he recommended had nothing to do with the actual issue I had which was documented. When I brought the records to my PCP for additional guidance she explained something completely different than what I was told by Kwok. Her explanation made. a lot more sense and addressed my actual symptoms. I'm switching to a new ortho immediately.

Arrogant Surgeon Syndrome, quick to cut
I had an MRI that show a torn rotator cuff and tendinosis in the bicep and subscapularis. He only looked at the rotator cuff and told me it would not get better without surgery. I asked for therapy and he begrudgingly prescribed it. I went to another doc in the same group and after a few months of therapy and a shot of cortisone have almost full mobility and very little pain.

Disappointed
Rushed, Abrupt. Condescending & Arrogant. Was my EXACT SAME experience. He seemed frustrated when I would ask him a question or try to get a better grasp on the information he was giving me. One experience with him was enough. I also decided to switch to a different doctor.

The appointment was rushed to the point that I left the office so confused that I had to call the next day and ask what was actually the problem that I came with yesterday. Did not give me any specific answers. He was saying things but not really saying anything just blabbering and was asking me what I want to do as if I were the doctor and supposed to know that. If something has to be done then do it don’t ask patients because they don’t know. They came for advice to the doctor that supposed to know that. When he came he asked me about some syndrome, I said “no” and that was it. Did not say if I have it or what just left everything like that without explanation. It was a waste of time and money because I still don’t know anything from this visit. They race like horses on a racetrack. Terrible experience.

I had multidirectional, chronic instability of my left shoulder. At the point of my surgery I had to flex my shoulder constantly to keep it in place, as all of the ligaments were either stretched or torn. After Dr. Kwok performed an arthroscopy on my shoulder, it has not dislocated in over a year, and I am even back to tumbling! Thank you Dr. Kwok!!
