My 62 year-old special needs sister developed lung and breathing issues that were debilitating. Visits to various doctors didn’t provide any clarity on the worsening problem and she was put on oxygen, 24 hours a day. After receiving a referral to Dr. Patricia Mikes, everything began to turn around. Dr. Mikes’ experience and excellent diagnostic skills isolated the problem and she created an individualized health plan for my sister. Dr. Mikes was very engaged, thorough and patient with my sister. Now, 18 months later, my sister is completely off oxygen (something that I never thought could happen) and her lungs are stronger than before she developed the issue. Our family is incredibly grateful to Dr. Mikes for her expertise and determination to help my sister improve her respiratory function and in turn, have a better quality of life. Her expertise, patience and plan of care exceededall of our hopes and expectations.

I saw Dr. Mikes for a follow-up visit after a pulmonary embolism. I can't say enough about how impressed I was. Dr. Patricia Mikes is an exceptional physician. She has deep specialized expertise and years of experience in her specialties that prepare her completely to diagnose and treat patients. Just as important is her ability to communicate -- listening, asking questions and explaining patient alternatives. She spends the time with her patients that is needed to understand and discuss options and risks. Patient care doesn't get better than this.

This is 1 on 1 caring, competent and thorough pulmonary medicine. Dr Mikes is thoughtful and expert at looking at me and my complete set of symptoms that were chronic for years. She took time to explain her plan and came up issues I hadn't even considered. We gradually worked through each issue. After one was managed we moved to the next and now I am a different person. This is the way a specialty doctor should approach every patient. When Dr Mikes thought I needed more attention to a given area outside of lungs, she referred me to another specialist. I feel so much better now that I have seen Dr Mikes and will continue to follow up with her.
