Dr. Theerthakara is my general physician. I am in my early 60s and have been seeing her for years, even when out of network. She is brilliant, insightful, kind, empathetic, and always encouraging. Highly recommend her.

Caring, Informed, Supportive for Weightloss
I know this doctor does more than this but I have been looking for someone who really treats obesity as the disease and the metobolic syndrome that it is. Modern medicine is just starting to figure this out instead of saying it is all on us to eat less and exercise (um, you try eating 800 calories a day for 20 years and then get back to me ok?). Dr T is that bariatric healthcare provider for me. She will develop a personalized treatment plan comprised of nutrition and medication and I can figure out the activity as I heal and get moving, lifting weights again. The struggle is real. She heard me. And she doesn't push surgery. I won't do surgery, not for me.
