To put it bluntly, she's a _ _ _ _ _!
The RUDEST most inconsiderate doctor I've ever seen! Having had brain surgery before and dealing with insufferable migraines I was desperate for help and most of all a little compassion...well this lady doesn't know compassion! I would not recommend her for anyone I know. Not everyone is looking for a pill or drug, some of us are looking for answers and help!

Great neurologist
The first visit I had I was not very pleased with her bedside manner but the last few visits have been great. You have to warm up to her she knows what she is doing and tells it like it is. Last oct and nov I took occipital nerve block shots in the back of head and neck. I had been suffering almost every day with a headache. They were not migraines. I have those also but they are almost nonexistent with topimarate have had them since my teens. This is May now and I started having headaches again but not as severe and not as often. My neck and back of head is a little tender and hurts but I am waiting a while until they get intense before I take my shots again. Dr Tumminello and the staff are awesome and she knows what she is doing. I would not trade doctors for anythi

Rudest physician
She never introduced herself, never a smile, seemed angry, showed no kindness or empathy-she began berating my elderly mother for her medication list. I felt like I was watching a movie and couldn’t believe she was a practicing physician. Ultimately, we agreed with some of the information she provided, but we felt her condescending attitude and utter rudeness were so out of line! We will not return to see her, and others should know what to expect. A LITTLE kindness goes a long way. Maybe some medical schools don’t teach this, but if you are going to practice in the US (especially the south) you better have some manners.I wish we had read some of the negative reviews prior to making the appointment. We will continue seeing docs in Birmingham.

TERRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER
My mother was referred to her for memory issues and to get her medical advice on a CT scan. She was very condescending and rude. So much so I ended the visit and let her know she needed to go back to school and learn bedside manner. Maybe she forgot who helps to provide her with a paycheck. I wouldn’t have given her 1 star but I had to in order to submit this review!

Rude receptionist at front desk.
I wrote down wrong time for appointment. I was jet lagged when she called the day before and I heard bring meds, drivers license, and insurance. We showed up 50 minutes late and she told us we were late and could not be seen. Gave us an appt for a month later. Gave us paper work and I sat down to look at my wallet and she told me to leave and fill out the papers at home. We were shocked as seniors. I called back and cancelled his and my later follow up appts.

We came to see Dr. Tumminello on Oct 1. Dr. Tumminello had complete disregard and disrespect for my father, which led to her misdiagnosis of my father needing physical therapy vs. treatment for his multiple strokes that were happening. As a result of this misdiagnosis, my father ended up in the hospital on life support on Oct 14, and I needed to make a decision that no child should have to. This same doctor pulled me in the middle of the nursing station in ICU and asserted her personal beliefs – not her medical diagnosis – that I was “committing murder.” Those are her exact words that will haunt me for the rest of my life. While the hospital made sure she did not have any more contact with me. I took my father off of life support, and he passed away on Nov 2. If you are looking for a doctor who has any empathy for you and your family members or any respect for background differences, this is not the doctor you are looking for. I felt it necessary to warn other potential patients.

Receptionist is very rude and nasty. Before I even got to see Tumminello I couldn't get in because the receptionist kept lying and saying they did not accept my insurance which was UHC PPO. Turns out they did and I was never given an apology by the manager or that overweight red head. Tumminello was no help with my headaches and she did not listen well nor seem to care. She did some injections in the back of my head that was supposed to numb the headaches. Hurt like heck and didn't work.

Very happy we found Dr. Tumminello. She spent a great deal of time making sure we clearly understood the problem. Very thorough. She seemed genuinely concerned for her patient. After 2 years I'm looking for a trustworthy neurologist for my mother-in-law we are very satisfied with Dr. Tumminello and her staff.
