Tristed Doctor Now Disappoints
Ten years ago Dr Pamela Cavanaugh was highly recommended. As a new patient, I was impressed with her patient centered focus, depth of knowledge and expertise, as well as commitment to preventive medicine. However, I am now bitterly disappointed. My annual wellness appointment was cancelled a week prior to the date, due to the doctor being out of office. Although having been a patient of Dr Cavanaugh for ten years, I am UNABLE to have the appointment rescheduled. I am told that she has an opening in 5 months. 5 months! I am at an age where annual wellness appointments are best practice for seniors. Undiagnosed conditions have more serious impacts. Thus, I am disheartened that Carolina Internal Medicine and Dr. Pamela Cavanaugh have apparently lost the focus of patient centered care. Preventive health should be valued over reactive health (treatment of conditions that have magnified, rather than identified early onset). Treating the sick obviously more profitable!
