Dr. Pablo Vivas, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Vivas for many years and while the majority of complaints by others and occasionally myself has been office wait time, I am aware that a popular and highly regarded Cardiologist (by other MD's like myself) will receive many emergency calls as his office is very close to the Mt Sinai ER and Cath Lab. So if I want a highly qualified Doctor if I ever have an emergency, I am better to have a quality doctor prior to that time.

My husband has been a patient at this cardiologist's office for over 6 years now, and while I appreciate the expertise of the medical staff, I must express my disappointment with their consistent tardiness. On multiple occasions, he had to wait over an hour past the scheduled appointment time, which has caused inconvenience and frustration. Today, they made him wait an hour. My husband has ALS and is on a ventilator. The office didn’t apologize or even acknowledge their tardiness. I understand that emergencies can occur in a medical setting, but it seems that this office may be overbooking patients or not managing their schedule effectively. The waiting room is often filled with anxious patients, and the delay in appointments only adds to the stress. I believe the practice needs to address this issue and implement better scheduling practices to respect patients' time and improve overall satisfaction. Until then, you may want to consider finding a new cardiologist.

Dr. Vivas is amazing, and so is his staff.

Highly professional, always make sure one understand the explanation of conditions. The staff is very nice and well trained.

Waited 50 minutes before leaving. The office had 20 people waiting in a poorly ventilated space. We are high risk for COVID but staff randomly taking temp of some patients. Others not taken. This office is a COVID nightmare. When I asked staff they shrugged and offered no explanation

Just a drugs pusher that look at you for 5 min and run away after letting you wait for 2 hours. billing department is a nightmare that will put you in really great problems, never answer the phone and use wrong insurance codes that let you dry after telling you are covered! really unprofessional office.

I always feel I can explicitly trust Dr. Vivas. He doesn't recommend treatments that aren't neccessary and he's always very forthright with the facts. He manages your expectations.
