Just sends for bloodwork. Looked at my file, sounds like they just don't like me? Maybe because I'm young and they deal with mostly the elderly? But it's just the same stuff, bloodwork and leave. Even if bloodwork shows something reoccurring, like high cholesterol, they just send a foods list to avoid. Well what if you don't eat anything on this list? What if it's genetic? No answers, just send the list again. They appear judgmental and like they just want to rack up insurance money. They were uncomfortable prescribing me necessary prescriptions as well.

Head the low ratings of this doctor
Dr Olivia Smith-Blackwell is not interested in her patients as people. I had an allergic reaction to a blood pressure medication she prescribed so I stopped taking it and told her next appointment. She didn’t give me another script, instead she put non-compliance in my file. I have issues with remembering to do things outside of my routine, so it’s hard for me to do bloodwork and tests at times. Instead of asking me about that she dropped me as a patient without warning. Even a warning that getting dropped was a possibility would have made me seek help from my household to make sure I got this done. I wasn’t even aware I was dropped. I called to schedule an appointment and was told I was no longer a patient there. If you care for patients shouldn’t you care why they are having issues? Shouldn’t you investigate their symptoms instead of labeling them non-compliant and shutting the door?

Poor care
I had a great experience with the doctor for many years- appears to be very attentive and takes time to listen but when it came down for it, she did very little to help me with things I brought up other than sending me for more tests or refusing to do anything unless I come in for yet another appointment. I suggested that I was transferring to a new doctor because they were giving me an hard time about medications and they “closed out” my care and canceled an appointment without notifying me at all. I only found out because I showed up for my appointment and they refused to see me. I am now scrambling to get prescriptions filled before I can get into see a new doctor (which will take many months). Terrible customer service and terrible care of patients. I would not recommend them at all.

There are better options
Went to her for a few years. Constantly sent me for tests. Checkups were never anything more than listening to my chest. My yearly physicals were not much more than that. The nurses would go over my chart and make any changes. They were always writing down the wrong information. I was constantly correcting the doctor when she was reading the charts and going over it with me. Besides weighing me and listening to my chest she never really did much of anything. The last time I saw her I was in the exam room with her and one of her nurses. They proceeded to badger me for 20 min. about filling out a health care proxy and a DNR. At the end of it all she listened to my chest and sent me on my way. Not only did she waste my time and charge me a copay but charged my insurance company $169 for the office visit. SHE DID'NT DO ANYTHING!! That was the deciding factor to find a new doctor which I have done and can't believe the difference.

I want others to be aware that Olivia Smith-Blackwell is unprofessional and truly a doctor who only cares about a paycheck. I received a letter from her office stating that she “could no longer continue my care because of my non-compliance with recommendations for care and treatment.” Mind you, I am 33 years old, had an ECG in her office and was told back in February at my first visit that I was okay by her office and told by the office that “having an abnormal heartbeat is normal for many people, I wouldn’t be too concerned especially with your age.” My main concern for visiting her was I have been prior diagnosed with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, so the office requested bloodwork from me, and said bloodwork confirmed in the 1st round that my TSH was low, 2nd round came back normal, charged me my copay, and then "requested" visiting a cardiologist. Ironically when in office we had a convo about "being smart and knowing what providers are only out there for the copays and to make money."

Was very sick over a weekend so I called Dr SB answering service. She called back and said drink tea with honey and lemon and when I told her I had difficulty breathing she said i don't know what to tell you and hung up!! I ended up in the ER with pneumonia. The receptionist is rude. No compassion here at all. No empathy.

I am forever grateful to Dr. Smith-Blackwell who allowed me in 2003 to take my father Albert Blachowicz back to Florida when social workers wanted to transfer him from a hospital to a nursing home. He lived another year and half until he died May 1, 2005 three weeks short of 100 in full command of his mental capacity, A woman of intelligence and compassion who personifies the best in medical practice. I commend her most highly.

Absolute worse office I have ever been too. Disregard your complaints, staff never reaches back to you, everyone has a condescending tone, the front desk worker is so miserable makes the sick sicker just a disgrace of a health care office zero sympathy or respect.

If I could leave ZERO stars I would. Dr SB was my mother's pc doctor and is absolutely the worst excuse for a healthcare provider-please do not take any elderly patients to her. She was condescending and didn't even listen to my mom's responses; she talked right over her. That is why I went to every appt. You may wonder why we did not change doctors, but my mom was 89 and her generation of patients do not "question" drs. Dr. SB is more interested in having her patients come to the office for EVERY conceivable reason to charge that office visit/$, when so many questions/issues could be handled easily over the phone. The 1 incident that clearly exhibits this lack of care: my mom had back surgery, was in rehab for 4 wks and was released. We needed DrSB approval for ins coverage for VNA home visits; which could have been done over the phone. She made my 89yr old mom come into her office, denied VNA AND my mom caught the flu while there. It took me 3 wks to appeal and have VNA come--EVIL

There seems to be a tremendous breakdown between what the Dr. tells the patient will and can happen and what the office staff is willing to do, I liked the Dr. put the support for the Dr. just wasn't there or the Dr. Lies to the patient. The Dr. name is the one on the door not the office staff. Not a good experience all the way around. .

This is by far the most unprofessional , rude, agressive office I've ever been to. This Dr is condescending, rude, and flat out down putting. The office manager Joan is a rude aggressive unprofessional woman who after I expressed concern about not wanting to see the Dr again, told me there was no point in me being seen that day and I should leave... at a sick visit with flu symptoms! She never asked why, what the problem was, she told me as the Dr owns the practice I should simply leave.

She came in to the first appointment having already made a diagnosis (for general care appointment) based on review of my initial visit forms, before actually meeting me. She then proceeded to talk over me as 'she has been in the industry for a long time and knows better'. She was dismissive, and seemed ready to rush me out of there with a referral to another doctor who 'should write you a prescription' at the first appointment. Not worth going back to.

Got into a car accident in March and her staff messed up my fmla papers for work then had the audacity to say "well what do you want us to do about it?" So I hadn't been back since then decided to just use a new primary and use her for my no fault. So today I go back for a check up on my body since my car accident and they tell me I cant be seen because I'm on medicaid, but Medicaid isnt even the one paying her no fault is. So I drove 30 mins for an appt that I couldn't take. Staff is grotesque

Highly recommend Dr. Smith-Blackwell! Was able to get a New Patient Appt. within 24 hours of calling. My wait time was 10 min or less. My initial visit took approx. 2 hours, but that was because she & her staff took their time collecting my medical history & did not wait to start my plan of care. She immediately referred me to the proper specialists & offered to assist in sched. appts. I am new to this area & couldn’t be more pleased with the care I received, & thrilled to have her on my team!

I am deeply sorry that I am not able to leave zero stars. Dr. Blackwell is a seething and insensitive incompetent. Throughout my entire time with the "Dr.," her conversation revolved around her irrelevant personal life and none on the elderly patient clearly exhibiting the overwhelming symptoms of dementia which any 1st year---or 1st day---intern could spot. Dr. Blackwell was completely clueless re: the cause of a geriatric's change in behavior, and just kept calling her a "vicious old lady."
