Condescending doctor
She is very condescending. She basically told me that the other 6 doctors did not test properly. When I read her notes after our visit, I thought she was talking about someone else. Some of the things she wrote were inaccurate and definitely not something I would have said.

Don’t recommend!
I waited 3 hours as a first time patient. Once in the room her behavior was condescending. She’s one of those physicians that treats patients like morons, and she works as if she’s in a rush. I was there for reoccurring yeast infections which she acted as if she did not want to treat it, insisted I continue to buy boric acid even though I had been using that months prior with no luck. Overall bad experience and waste of my time.

Avoid this doctor
Condescending and unhelpful. She talked down to me and blamed all of my health issues on the fact that I’m non-monogamous. Waited over 3 hours for a 15 minute appointment. She ordered tests that I literally just had done and did not need or want done again. She was judgmental and would not listen to any of my concerns. My entire appointment was useless.

Thorough
I’ve seen Dr. Mmeje two times and on both accounts she listened and explained how to assess and address my needs. She did not seem rushed and took her time with me.

Terrible- rushed through the appointment and treated me like garbage. She has no business dealing with people and should consider working in a lab.

The Negative reviews are correct. We had to see her as chosen OBGYN from UofM. In all visits, we were rushed off and there was a complete lack of empathy and re-assurances which would have been so much help as a first-time mom. We live in Southfield and came for visits all the way for UofM but turned out it was completely not worth it. Avoid the doc if you can.

This was the worst doctors visits I have ever had, definitely not the Michigan Medicine Way. I had to see Dr. Mmeje in place of my regular OBGYN due to COVID. I was coming from infertility and was 8 weeks pregnant. Dr. Mmeje didn't bother to show up on time, (45 minutes late), no apology or acknowledgment, nor did she even do her due diligence to understand my history. This pregnancy was from IUI and the first scan I had our baby was measuring a week behind, second scan he caught up. At this scan, she dismissed me like I was a bother, irritated with my questions, and seemed to want to rush me out. Once doing the scan she stated he was measuring 7 weeks (I was 8 weeks pregnant). She dismissed this lag in growth and started to clean up. I had to say, ummm, isn't that odd? She dismissed it and said nothing was wrong. I ended up having a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks and he stopped growing at 7.5 weeks. Thanks for the heartache that could have been caught earlier had she done her job.

Would not recommend to anyone. Extremely demeaning and unhelpful, did nothing to reassure me as a first time mom in the middle of the covid crisis. It was a phone visit and I hung up crying out of frustration. She dismissed all of my questions and made me feel like a burden, 1.5 hours late, hoping and praying I can see my regular doctor for the remainder of my pregnancy because she has really tainted my experience. Empathy goes a long way in a time of uncertainty- and she had none.

horrible..never again will I see this doctor. She interviews you first to see if you qualify for an exam! She is extremely rude and condescending. She doesn't like it when you ask her questions. Then after the exam she rushes out o the room..no thank you..no good bye..nothing. It took her 4 weeks to finally call in a prescription for me. Left me suffering with an infection while I waited for her.

My experience was extremely upsetting and I would not recommend seeing her. Her tone when reviewing my medical history was was indifferent and dismissive. She performed an exam and ordered some tests and the visit would have ended if I didn’t stop to ask about what could be causing my symptoms and how those tests could help address that. She sounded frustrated that I was asking these questions (which seems like basic information the physician should be proactively communicating), kept repeating a canned response which included a laundry list of everything that could go wrong in the gynecological space, and was defensive and hostile when I asked more clarifying questions about my specific case. Will not be returning to her office.

Worst medical experience of my life. I've been struggling with chronic issues for the past 6 months and as a previously healthy 23 year old woman i was terrified about what was happening with my body and had no idea what to do. After seeing 6 different doctors at IHA which they were all lovely but did not know what was wrong with me so they sent me here which i was so excited to possibly get some answers. She is not personable, clearly does not care, made me feel like an idiot for making a follow up appointment when she told me to come in and that she could not treat me over the phone, and when i was in her office she said i don't know why you're here you need to go to this clinic which she never mentioned before. Absolutely horrific experience.

Generally poor bedside manner. Although I was a new patient, Dr. Mmeje did not take time to understand my prior history and symptoms. She was dismissive of my concerns, rattled off information without giving me time to process or ask questions, and was more interested in taking notes than talking with me.

she was running an hour behind. when she finally got to me she rushed through the app. didn’t even take time out for me to even speak, she walked in like she already knew what the issue was and didn’t even try to help me or hear me. she’s needs a lot of work on being personable and listening to the patient because at the end of the day i didn’t receive anything i needed from her. waste of time and waste of money. and she’s supposed to be a specialist but bs’d her way through my app.

Total waste of my time. She promised me a course of action after labs came back positive. They did, and I never received the course of action even after I sent email to portal. She's not very nice, either. I had to pay out of pocket. Maddening.

I was referred to her clinic and had to wait over an hour from my scheduled appointment time. she was vague, explained nothing, was impatient with my questions and when she did answer she used words you’d only understand if you went to medical school. Absolutely horrible with answering phone calls or follow up questions. It takes her 3 days to answer questions in patient portal. She would not fill my prescription in a timely manner and gave me NO treatment plan! Unhelpful and no bedside manner.

I can't believe she works at the U ofM women's health center. Dr.Mmeje walked into the room with a smile on and introduced herself. As soon as I started asking questions about the tests that she was planning on doing, her tone changed drastically and she grew impatient and rude. She continued to say things like "um ok I will have to refill your birth control" (I wasn't on birth control nor did I request birth control) I continuously apologized for being so inquisitive but she was NOT responsive.
