Poor bedside manner
Like so many other parents, we experienced unkind treatment of our child by Dr. Gurtunca. She focused on body issues in a negative way without addressing presenting problem. I wish I had transferred my child’s care sooner than I did. He was negatively affected by his experience with her.

Find another doctor!
If you or your pediatrician suspect growth issues, find another doctor. She will not do the appropriate testing and will waste your time. Get another opinion (outside of Children’s) if you do go to her, and don’t feel comfortable with her recommendations. There are better endocrinologists out there.

Run......don't walk away from Dr. Gurtunca. She is useless, mean, and cruel. I took my 16 year old daughter to her about 2 months ago. Dr. Gurtunca called her obese, treated her terrible, and did NOTHING TO HELP HER. It's been 2 months from our visit with Dr. Gurtunca. My daughter still talks to me about how poorly she was treated. My child is very kind. She told me that she hates Dr. Gurtunca. I have never heard my daughter say that she hates anyone. This miserable woman needs to retire. I hope that my daughter will recover from her experience with Dr. Gurtunca. RETIRE DR. GURTUNCA! YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO YOUR PROFESSION!
