Dismissive of patient input
I was suffering from anxiety and breathing problems for over a year, and saw Dr. Kamo twice as my general physician. Each time, Dr. Kamo was in a rush, impatient, and very quickly offered a diagnosis and prescription that did not help with my problem at all. Dr. Kamo also tends to get agitated if you try to ask him your lingering questions about the treatment, and will rush out of the room. After nearly suffering two years through my problem, and consulting with other doctors, we narrowed down the issue to be resulting from high levels of cholesterol in my blood -- I just wish I consulted with other doctors sooner so that my issue was resolved more quickly.

Waste of time
Flew from Nashville to Seattle for appointments- I had my labs drawn and was sitting in the exam room when the doctor refused to see me. He informed his nurse or medical assistant that I should instead follow up with my pcp who is on a sabbatical. This was rude and doesn’t take into consideration the financial impact and time wasted. I work for a hospital and we do not treat patients like this. I hope to hear from Press Gainey to comment on this physician and Virginia Mason as a whole. There was no mention of any emergency or reason. I was given a print out of my age and vitals. They knew my physical is out and I would not be able to connect now until September via a video visit. What a waste - rude and poor bedside manner. I can see why others have rate Dr Kamo with 1 star.

I have found Dr Kamo to be excellent. He properly diagnosed a condition another VM physician brushed aside. He’s arranged for certain tests and procedures and discussed the results in detail with me. In many instances, these are tests/procedures my prior physician failed to note. I have referred several friends to Dr. Kamo. I appreciate his calm, methodical manner, and interest in my well-being.

During my last visit with Dr. Kamo, I came in for a minor sensitivity I was feeling. After a couple minutes of questioning, Norris Kamo insisted that the hospital conduct a list of blood tests without discussion or approval from me. When I questioned one of the tests he told me he wanted to have done, I told him it was unnecessary (i knew what the result would be). He insisted anyways and made the decision to test me for that. I made the appointment for something minor and I ended up receiving a bill for over $1,300 because of the testing that Norris essentially forced me into taking. This doctor has lost my trust and I will never be a patient of his again. Do not put your trust in his hands.

he’s lost my trust. An event caused this mistrust, he essentially ignored my concerns about a dangerous med. I’d had previous bad times with this meds. he put me on that med & I almost died. When I got off it and expressed my distrust & anger, he told me something like ‘we’re aware of the risks and deemed it would be more beneficial, everyone’s different, we can’t be sure how the meds will interact’ no I told him what these meds do to me and that I didn’t want it. My health deteriorated further

Overall he was not helpful. When I told him I was having issues sleeping he brushed it off with a few recommendations like "try setting a schedule". He then changed the conversation quickly as to why I wasn't on birth control (which was not why I had gone in). He spent 15 minutes googling risks and showing me stats. I assured him I had talked to my female doctor about the issue but he would not drop it. He was very pushy and clearly did not understand that women have the choice not to take BC.
