Did robotically gallbladder surgery
In Sept 2023 Dr Wang performed robotically gallbladder surgery on my husband. His recovery was very easy. Another friend also had the same surgery with the same recovery results. Dr. Wang is highly skilled in doing the robotic machine. He is very good at explaining what he did. I highly recommend him.

Competent but been negligently arrogant
Laparoscopic Inguinal hernia repair on right side November 28th 2023. Everything was great until after the surgery. I stoped taking the pain meds after two days and pain resolved quickly (and ironically). 4 days out I was feeling great and had resumed most daily activities with no trouble. Then I made a sudden movement that caused an immediate but momentary seering, intense pain right where the mesh was placed. Shortly after that my testicles began to swell and I experienced tenderness and aching all over the testicular area and groin. I sent Norby a MyChart message about this as it had reoccurred several times. He said I should just wait until the post op appointment more than a week later instead of getting an exam or imaging right away. Well, that was Tuesday, it's now Friday and I just left urgent care with a diagnosis of two testicular infections, a mild UTI, and a script for doxycycline. I've been in agony for 5 days that could have been avoided by seeking help on Monday.

Double charged/Careless mistakes/Lack of aftercare
Beware. This is my experience at Dr Wang's office: 5/11/23 was my pre-op. I spent extra time explaining past surgeries problems (including reactions to pain medications). I was charged for 2 office visits. 7/11/23 was my surgery. Before surgery, I was told by (name withheld), "Here is my number and extension. Call me if you need anything. I am here for you". First, the office called in my prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy. Then I was given the narcotic pain meds I am allergic to. At home, desperate from pain, I took 2 pills. I had a BAD painful reaction. Calls all day long to their special help phone number were ignored. To get help, my husband all but carried me to urgent care the day after surgery. Days later I was called back and the nurse was rude. 7/27/23 was my follow-up appt. They were nice, sorry, but gave no indications of office improvements. Dr Wang is probably a great surgeon, but due to office staff problems I can not recommend going to him for surgery.

Dr. Wang did not address my concerns or questions. I felt as though he had already made his mind up that he didn't want to oversee my care.

I would not recommend Dr. Wang. It has been over a year since I had my emergency surgery to repair a perforated colon. I am now undergoing treatment with a new surgeon because Dr. Wang finally said that he needed to refer me to a specialist who deals with colorectal surgery. Why couldn't he do this before I had 3 surgeries to correct the problem. All Dr. Wang said to me was "Trust Me". I did and it got me nowhere. My new surgeon is wonderful and knows what he is doing.

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Dr. Wang and I discussed my medical issue and he stated that he would remove my hemorrhoid. When I woke up I was told that he did a different procedure. I ended up in worse condition than before he touched me. I wrote to him via MyChart and asked him to explain what exactly was done and why. He NEVER responded. I now have an appointment with a specialist surgeon who will correct and remove the one that DR. Wang treated and another one which Dr. Wang never saw that I had.
