Dr. Niraj Ajmere, MD

I have been going to Dr. Ajmere for 8 years now. He's really worked through my Crohns issues with me, adjusting my medications, doing follow-up testing and procedures. He is responsive to my questions and I recommend him.

My experience with Dr. Niraj was nothing short of disappointing and frustrating. I reached out to him in a state of deep discomfort and pain, desperately seeking relief. While I was fortunate enough to secure an appointment with the specialist within 1 to 2 days, the quality of care I received was far from satisfactory. From the moment I met Dr. Niraj, I expressed my concerns and emphasized the urgency of my situation. I even implored him not to treat me as just another money-making opportunity, a plea which unfortunately fell on deaf ears. Despite his assurances that he would take care of my problem, the reality was quite different. Dr. Niraj quickly scheduled me for a colonoscopy, which seemed promising at first. However, after the procedure, he informed me that he didn't find anything major. While he promised to inform me of the biopsy results, his prescribed treatment was minimal - only one medication for pain, which provided no relief whatsoever. The lack of communication and follow-up from Dr. Niraj's office was appalling. Despite reaching out through the portal, I received no response about the next steps for my treatment. After sending a follow-up message, I was finally replied to after nearly 8 to 10 days, with instructions to schedule an appointment to discuss further. The entire process dragged on for 15 to 20 days, during which time my pain and discomfort only worsened. Feeling neglected and frustrated, I sought treatment elsewhere. It was clear to me that Dr. Niraj's focus was more on performing diagnostic tests, likely for financial gain, rather than providing effective medical care. I cannot in good conscience recommend Dr. Niraj to anyone in need of compassionate and attentive medical attention. While he may hold certifications, his lack of ethical consideration for his patients' well-being raises serious concerns. Doctors who prioritize profit over patient care should be held accountable by the medical board and reconsider their commitment to the profession.

Dr. Ajmere is the best gastroenterologist I have ever had. He is kind, knowledgeable, gentle, and really remembers me and all of my individual concerns.

Dr. Ajmere was referred by my husband. He had an excellent experience and I had an equally wonderful experience! We couldn't possibly be happier. We both had a colonoscopy and I got an endoscopy in addition. It is so difficult to choose a doctor, so take comfort in choosing Dr. Ajmere, you will not be disappointed.

If you are having a routine colonoscopy with no other issues, this might be a good fit. I felt my more complicated concerns were not addressed thoughtfully and despite being told otherwise, my main concern was not ruled out during a procedure when it could have been. Disappointed.

Avoid this Doctor. Dr. Ajmere is totally unresponsive to follow up questions and prescription information after initial visit. I’ve left messages with his office and through MyChart that have gone unanswered for weeks. His staff indicates they are pushing my messages to him with high priority, but it makes no difference. They are good however at providing excuses for him.

On 4/10/17 Dr Ajmere administered argon plasma coagulation on me to correct a condition called radiation proctitis that caused rectal bleeding. My research had indicated that normally more than one application is needed to clear up the problem. Dr Ajmere was however a healer with the golden touch. One quick painless procedure and I haven’t had an issue since! He’s TOPS!!!

He prescribed an extremely high initial dose of Omeprazole (80 mg) that made me very sick with serious headaches and queasiness. Slow to respond to my concerns, insisting that this was what I needed, and slow to providing alternatives when he finally relented. His staff informed me that a 48 hour wait for filling a prescription was normal because they were so busy; then I found out (not from them) that the prescription that I was waiting for was available over-the-counter. Avoid them!
