Horrible person
After my father was diagnosed with glioblastoma several years ago, we were under the “care” of this awful human being. She was - to put it succinctly - a condescending, arrogant, heartless, and degrading towards my dad and the rest of my family. Over the course of the two years we went to her, her office staff turnover was significant; she was terrible to them, too. When dealing with people, many of whom are dealing with terminal diagnoses, a doctor should have at least a sliver of kindness in their bedside manner. This woman has none. I wish there was an option for zero stars on this rating scale, because that is what she deserves.

Would never recommend Dr. Paleologos
I am still haunted by the treatment I received by Dr. Paleologos. As I improved, thank goodness, the doctor's attitude changed dramatically towards me. I left my follow up appointments in tears. My hope, is that Dr. Paleologos develops empathy and compassion when caring for her new patients.

She had a tantrum and scolded my mother and my family for listening to another doctor while my father was under her care for a brain tumor. I was so shocked at her behavior that I didn't know how to respond. Long story short, her behavior was shameful to someone who was terminally ill while under her care. Further more my mother wasn't even at fault. She needs to remember she's dealing with people not lab rats.

I saw her every 3 months for a brain tumor for 10 years. She was extremely rude to me and my husband but because she was recommended by my neurosurgeon, we stayed with her. During my last appointment, after my MRI, she asked if she told me last time that the tumor had grown. Totally shocked, I said no. She looked at me like I was an idiot and said that she was pretty sure she told me. My husband asked how much did it grow and she very sarcastically told him there was no way to measure it. The radiologist had been measuring it since day 1, and she had the nerve to say that there was no way of knowing?? We left her office and never saw her again. While I was in her care, the tumor grew bigger than the 1st time I had surgery. I saw my original surgeon who recommended me to another surgeon. Had another surgery and radiation and am doing fine now. I have MRIs every year. She is a cold hearted person who should not have anything to do with people.

Roughly 10 years ago Dr. Paleologos recommended that I have my entire right frontal brain lobe removed as a prophylactic measure. She claimed that she saw progression of my tumor, neither my wife and I nor my surgeon could see the progression. Lacking confidence, I left her care.

Dr P is more demanding of patients than any other doctor we see. She demands we send or bring paperwork she should be getting from other providers. She demands explanations for decisions and talks down to patient and family constantly. In less than a year we saw her entire staff change - one staff member was crying just outside the office after Dr P scolded her at reception. When the medical oncologist made a mistake with the chemo cycle timing, she accused us of not listening and that we should have corrected the oncologist. If she's explained something once to patient and family, she expects them to remember it forever. Brain cancer is a tumultuous, stressful treatment, and she is completely lacking in genuine empathy. She even plugged her text book twice during visits. We've resigned ourselves to simply nodding at her until she's done talking. She also demands you go straight to the appt after MRI, which means you are at the mercy of her schedule. Would not recommend to anyone.

No bedside manner whatsoever. Treats patients in a condescending manner. Does not make patients feel like they are receiving individualized treatment. Terrible in collaboration with other doctors. Leaves it to the patient to do the communicating. Makes inconsistent statements when she changes what she said previously and then claims she never made those statements. On one occasion kept looking at her watch clearly communicating the lack of importance her patient was to her.

Dr. Paleologos has no consideration for the patient or family. As she says in her video on Advocate, she wants to “Steer the Ship” so make sure you submit to the Captain without question. Why would someone so cold hearted choose to be an Oncologist? The diagnosis is terrifying enough, without having a totally incompassionate control freak as a doctor. All she cares about is her knowledge. She & her nurse don’t return phone calls when we have questions regarding a very scary situation.
