Dr. Lath was amazing. He was compassionate and understanding of my situation. He was very reassuring and confident that everything would go well. I was diagnosed with severe anemia due to a cancerous mass in my colon that was slowly bleeding. Dr. Lath was able to remove a section of my colon robotically and provide an ostomy while I recovered. Approximately 8 months later he reversed the procedure robotically. My recovery from both surgeries was quick and thanks to his intervention there is currently no spreading of the cancer. My outcome could have been entirely different if it wasn't for him. It's great to know that such great surgeons and this type of technology is available in the suburbs (Silver Cross Hospital - New Lenox). Most people believe you need to go into the city for this type of care. Thank you so much Dr. Lath.

I went in to get a routine appendectomy but ended up being more complicated than that. He took care of everything and got me on the road to recovery. Dr. Lath is a great surgeon, great explainer of care and after care and has great bedside manors. I would highly recommend.

Dr. Lath performed a laparotomy surgery in May 2023 where I also needed a colostomy for a blocked colon. He performed the same laparotomy on me 2 weeks ago and was also able to reverse my colostomy. The healing for these procedures has been great and it’s so wonderful to have everything back the way it was in addition to having my colon tumor removed. The office staff is very courteous and it was always easy making an appointment.

Dr. Lath was not very personable when entering the room. He did not introduce himself or greet the patient. He was unprepared with past medical and surgical history. He did no physical exam. Questions were not answered directly. Dr. Lath seemed very unconcerned and dismissive of this elderly patient.

Gallbladder removal was fast with an easy recovery. Dr Lath is very competent.Office staff is courteous and compassionate.

Dr. Lath was one of the best doctors we have ever dealt with. His bedside manner is wonderful. He is kind and explained everything he was doing and what we were to expect and how to take care of the incision at home. If we ever need his services again we will go to him without any hesitation and we will highly recommend him to our family and friends. We wish he could come out to Eureka Carle Hospital.

Dr. Lath was honest and direct about my situation; which ended up being a very complex surgery. I am very thankful he had the skills to correct the problems which allowed my body to function correctly again. I’m confident he will do his best for all patients under his care. I would highly recommend Dr. Lath.

Dr. Lath just did my emergency appendectomy, which was happily uneventful. His bed side manner before and at the follow up appointment were what made me want to review him. He took the time to answer all questions and explain what I can expect going forward. It felt like I was talking to a friend or family member. It was a notably kind experience.

Dr. Lath is amazing. He performed a Colonoscopy on me one day, then was the surgeon performing a Colon Resection the following day (I had Diverticulitis, with micro perforations). Dr. Lath is always friendly, very professional, and more than willing to answer questions. The surgery went much better than I anticipated. He was able to do it using robotics; there was minimal pain, and there will be very minimal scaring. Nothing but the highest of praises for Dr. Lath, and his incredible team!!!

I went to ER on Friday evening, my acute issue turned in to a miracle.due to DR. Lath persistence an knowledge,an I my add against all other recommendations to remove my appendix.DR.Lath ran further test an found stage 3 colon cancer. Which would of never been found! HE immediately done surgery. WE will forever be grateful for his guidance an help through this process. thank you ,the FROST

Dr. Lath was very professional and explained my surgery to me so I could understand what to expect. He spent time explaining how the surgery would be done and what to expect afterwards. I definitely will recommend him to all my friends and family!

There is absolutely NO WAY I would go back to this doctor. I consulted with him on removing haemorrhoids that had returned after rubber band ligation. Inspection- rather than being somewhat gentle (not asking for dinner & a movie), he stuck the scope inside & tried jamming it in even harder while complaining about me needing to LOOSEN UP. I told him I am definitely trying & he responded with something to the tune of that's not good enough. This doctor has absolutely zero bedside manner.

I was referred to Dr. Lath from my general physician. I had two operations over a few months. I found him to be patent & understanding. He took plenty of time to explain things & answer questions. There was not one part of the experience that was negative. I was very satisfied!
