Dr. Nicole Shin, MD

I found Dr. Shin to be highly attentive to my needs, caring about my particular situation, and she went above and beyond to ensure I understood so that I could make the best decision for myself and family.

We saw Dr. Shin for our 20 week ultrasound. She was very knowledgeable with great attention to detail. She answered all our questions thoroughly to put our concerns at ease. Highly recommend.

I was high risk my first pregnancy which led to my second being high risk as well too, I’m SO beyond grateful that Dr Shin is a part of the team at EMFM now. She has been so helpful and warm each of my visits in explaining all of the tests and results that they find, which makes my weekly visits less of a drag. I wish I could request her for all of my appointments but I understand they’re busy but she is by far my favorite provider at the office and will always recommend her and request for her when I can. Thank you Dr Shin for helping me achieve the healthiest pregnancy possible!

Shin copied and pasted recommendations made by her peers from previous visits and could not answer any followup questions. she asked for five minutes break, came back and read what she copied and pasted. when asked about followup questions she could not answer single word. she totally lacks reasoning on what she copies and pastes.

Dr. Shin was dismissive of my questions and seemed uninterested in any of my concerns. She alarmed me but failed to do anything about the issue. Extremely poor experience with her. She lacks experience and confidence as well.

I met with Dr Shin twice at EMFM (in Bellevue). Dr Shin lacks in a "bedside manner"; she seems to be "reading off a script" that lacks in logical thinking and reasonable care for the patient. It comes across as uncompassionate. My first ultrasound was past a typical 20 week ultrasound. We understood due to the size of our baby some things that couldn't be imaged/measured and therefore inconclusive. Dr Shin recommended a follow-up growth ultrasound... which wouldn't have helped in making further determinations in the inconclusive results. It was an asinine recommendation which made it seem like she was only making a recommendation to get us in for a second ultrasound. I did end up having a second ultrasound (to check on placenta and fluid levels per my midwife's concern). Everything was fine and Dr Shin "had no recommendation to make." Which again, seemed like an illogical thing to say after everything that could be identified at 39 weeks was fine.

Right away when this doctor walked into the room... I knew she would not be engaged or care about our visit. She entered already seemingly annoyed. She was not interested, grumpy, didn't want to answer any of my questions. One of if not the worst, doctor visit we've had so far in my pregnancy. Terrible bedside manner and incredibly unfriendly. Luckily she is not our usual doctor but I most definitely will not be visiting with her again.
