Dr. Nicholas Wegner, MD

Friendly enough the first visit. He had his scheduling nurse contact me for a procedure, which kept me off my feet off for six weeks, and I certainly would not nor could not do. I was told that in order to find out whether an alternate procedure could be covered by general anesthesia. I would need to come in and have another face-to-face with the doctor. He was rushed and very dismissive when I asked for another local pain treatment be done in his office. He scoffed at my question, inferring the treatment was misguided and possibly foolhardy. Funny, not funny, I’ve received years worth of relief from a local Doctor of Podiatry. I was told that the question would be posed to the doctor doing the guided imagery pain relief, and never heard back from anyone. Your mileage may vary.

He thought his time was more important than the patients and guardian's time. He would not address aftercare or discharge, would not answer questions on what to expect in our child's recuperation process. Was always in a hurry to get out the door. He is a good surgeon but has very little kind bedside manner. We felt abandoned and unsure every time we saw him. We didn't feel like he cared and he certainly didn't make us feel secure or confident about our child's care. Very disappointed. No bedside manner whatsoever! Looking forward to finding an orthopedic foot and ankle doctor with some compassion and patience.

Dr. Wegner is a good surgeon; however if you are looking for a doctor who listens to your concerns and lets you ask questions without telling you I don't mean to be rude but I don't have time and need to go or someone who is interested in obtaining a patient's health history or their need for aftercare or someone who shows any empathy or caring and patience for patients, this is not your guy. Rushes you and very unfeeling and uncaring and doesn't explain things well--he is always in a rush. Leaves you feeling unsure what to do next and like he did the surgery now he is done with you. Not the guy for my family.

Dr. Wegner helped guide me through the healing process from my injury. I will recommend him to others as he great.

My visits with Dr. Wegner were above expectations. He has a friendly bedside manner, and is very thorough in providing recovery timelines, and next steps. He also made personal recommendations for physical therapy and next steps. I had a great experience and would highly recommend Dr. Wegner and his team at MD Ortho.

I have seen Dr. Wegner for about a year with a foot problem. Despite multiple visits, he failed to notice and diagnose major neuromuscular disorder that was behind my problems. I went to see a podiatrist to get a second opinion, and within 5 minute exam, the podiatrist immediately told me that he cannot help me because my problems are of neurological nature. Months of neurological tests confirmed his suspicion and yielded a diagnosis. Interestingly, when I originally asked Dr. Wegner's practice if I could consult a more experienced colleague in the same practice, I was told that they don't allow that and I have to stay with the originally assigned practitioner.
