Dr. Salerno was very communicative, personable, and compassionate during a difficult situation. Our experience with him was excellent - his manner was among the best we’ve experienced from an Emergency Department doctor.

Caring Doctor and Staff
My almost-2-year-old son took a tumble at home and bumped his eye on a wicker coffee table right at my feet. Needless to say, seeing blood was terrifying! We rushed him to the ER, where the nurses and Dr. Salerno were fantastic. They calmed us down immediately and checked my son's eye. Dr. Salerno reassured us that he needed to tend to other emergencies as well, but he wouldn't leave us hanging. He checked on my son quickly and then returned for a thorough examination, including a dye test, to confirm everything was alright. We were incredibly grateful for the fast diagnosis and how calming everyone was throughout the process. Dr. Salerno and the nurses put both my son and us at ease in a stressful situation.

Educator! Human! Comforting!
I brought my daughter in for possible strep; respiratory infection. This is my 2nd encounter with Dr. Salerno and both times he has educated me on when and what to get my daughter swapped without dismissing me as a new mom. He made my situation relatable to his situation as a parent pertaining to what he would do for his kids. He made me feel safe in knowing that he not gonna shove a bunch of medicines in my daughter's body without thoroughly assessing the symptoms and situation presented. He always had a great body language and communicate as 2 human beings without the authority attitude. He ensures that I'm doing a great job and to take time apart from his job to reassure the parents that everything will be good is important especially when they have anxiety like I do. Very thorough, friendly, and by the book!!!And Not to throw race in it but, I'm a African American Female in America in the south, it's nice to feel like my care is a priority and Dr. Salerno has not disappoint.

Friendly & Thorough
Dr. Salerno was incredibly friendly & thorough. He really took the time to make you feel like you’re being heard & he explained everything that was found through scans and blood work. The ER was unusually busy but he still checked in multiple times throughout my time there. He even checked in before he left for the day to make sure I was okay & if I had anymore questions or needed anything before he left. I’ve never had care at an ER before like the care he provided. Highly recommend.

So thorough!
Dr. Salerno was an incredible provider for us when we didn’t have answers for our son’s high fevers. He was incredibly thorough and made us feel so at ease when we were so worried, and he found the reason for his fevers when other providers couldn’t. Definitely recommend him!

Very rude in STPH ER. Accused a family member as an opioid seeker. She went in ER for the second time for shingles. :(
