I was a patient of Dr. Chan's for 4 years, and I wouldn't recommend him at all to anyone dealing with anything but anxiety and depression. He told me that I caused my own trauma, straight up. He didn't understand my chronic pain at all, he didn't understand my C-PTSD at all. He was extremely resistant when it came to another psychiatrist suggesting I may have a personality disorder and to try a mood stabilizer (which he always added on "I don't think it'll work", it worked amazingly from day one) and throughout my entire care regimen refused to believe my diagnosis of autism, despite getting affirmed for it several times by multiple people, including the SDRC. He was incredibly resistant to accepting I had anything but the two "acceptable" disorders and ADHD. If your kid struggles with just anxiety and depression, I'm sure he's more fitting. But if your kid struggles with Anything more I cannot recommend.
