Dr. Tomycz does not “hear” what you tell him about your symptoms. He is arrogant and short. It seems he does not like to interact face to face with a patient. He performed a ACDF on me and I had no issues with that. When I developed a new issue, I had to leave the practice and go to a neurosurgeon who would listen to my symptoms. Good luck, I do not recommend.

Most incompetent physician I have ever met.
I had surgery for spinal stenosis and took him 2 weeks to diagnose a deep infection despite persistent drainage and severe sciatic pain. I ended up distinctly worse after surgery than before. This physician lacks any source of professionalism or emphathy.

Just another one star surgeon
This guy butchered my neck and his placement of the SCS was sloppy and additional hardware was placed in my back without prior consent.

1 star because there are no negatives. I've never been treated so poorly by a medical practice. Had a spinal fusion & discharged the next morning (nothing to do with insurance). Who does that? Dr. T admitted on 3 occasions his error but never apologized. Not very humble. I had no help at home (NONE) & a nurse wasn't sent to do follow-ups. I find that odd. I've never experienced so much pain & my pleas for help were pushed aside. I've NEVER experienced such inhumane treatment. I was told over & over this is a difficult & very painful surgery. My calls to Dr. T have been disregarded & told go to pain mgt & PT. Maybe he could give me some gas $??. I can't work & can barely pay my bills as it is. I was laughed at the last time I called,,I admit to losing my temper more than once; who wouldn't if you were in constant pain. I've been devastated & left with such an overwhelming depression that I don't leave home unless I have to. This has been a nightmare,,,

Dr Tomycz visited my husband in the hospital He walked into the room, said very little, ordered a back brace be molded. It was a solid plastic, back and front - very uncomfortable. My husband went into a rehab home and was never instructed how to put it on or when he could take it off We tried to get in touch with Dr T but he never returned our call. His bill came faster than his answer

This Dr. Offened me. I was referred to him by pain management doc. for intractable neck pain. Dr. Spent 5 minutes with me, and treated me like an addict because I had received and used a small amount of pain medicine. Dr. Asked why I even came to see him when nothing was wrong with me. I couldn't ask a question before Dr. walked out of room. I put a lot of hope in this guy, and he left me hopeless and hurting. I got copay back for what I considered to be an invalid visit and waste of my time.

I Dr Tomycz is an excellent neurosurgeon who gives you the facts about your condition and what you can expect moving forward. I could not lay down at all-too painful in any position pain radiating down right buttock to hip to ground down to knee. Woke from surgery it was gone. Thank you Dr T and wonderful staff! Nancy M

First of all, Dr. T DOES have a problem listening sometimes and he can talk fast. Do you know WHY? Because he already knows what is wrong with you, or that you are drug seeking and there really isn't much wrong. Now, he CAN seem very unwarm. I know him and know the man is a GENIUS who saved my life. Don't expect pain meds from him. He can FIX you. I trusted him with my brain and cord. I trust him. I actually seen compassion on his face. He's human too so normal people have bad days.

My father had two surgeries with Dr. Tomycz; the first was very successful and dad was on his feet within hours of the surgery. He did not bounce back from the second surgery as quickly (dad was 83 at the time of his second surgery). Dr. Tomycz is a straight shooter ... he is soft spoken, but doesn't mince words. If you want to know the straight up facts, this is the guy for you. He is honest about the quality of life post surgery and will tell you if surgery won't help. Very trustworthy.

Is there enough that can be said about someone who has given our lives back to us? He restored my very ill husband to full functioning through surgery. Dr. Tomycz is beyond skilled. He is gifted. He's brilliant, He has always taken the time to fully explain things to us and answered our questions and has always demonstrated concern and commitment to us. My family is so grateful to him.

I found Dr. Tomycz to be arrogant and insulting. More interested in what he had to say than listening to what I had to say. A fast talker. He seemed not to care and had no interest in working with my own Dr. to get me better. Make a choice. One or the other. He couldn't seem to get out of my room fast enough, trying to shake my hand and head for the door several times. He had his opinion, and wasn't interested in my or my referring Dr.'s point of view. I won't be going back.
