Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Dr. Lazo. Truly the worst experience with a doctor that I have had yet. When I was initially referred to her, she made me repeat labs that had previously been done by other doctors which led to my being referred to her in the first place. I should have left then, in hindsight, but instead I saw her for a year and was disappointed and frustrated after every appointment. She was incredibly dismissive of my concerns during each appointment, and even contradicted herself during and between appointments (once she told me to take two meds, then changed it to one, then back to both and said to ask my OBGYN to confirm - absolutely head spinning). She was also often confused and had trouble remembering details about my medical history, including previous medical advice that she had given me herself. When I would try to remind her of my background or events leading up to current treatment plan, she repeated got confused, frustrated, and spoke down to me.

Right off the bat, I did not feel comfortable with Dr. Awkar Lazo. She was not very friendly when introducing herself and she was very dismissive. When I asked her a question, her responses made it pretty apparent that she was not knowledgeable about the condition I was there to be evaluated for. I brought labs that were done within the last 30 days with me and all she wanted to do was send me back to the lab for the same exact tests. I left the office knowing I would not return for a follow up and found a new oncologist.
